Great potential for this Korean team in the future. As to what I have seen their development is ahead as that of the Chinese players. I like how the number 4 plays, very accurate from the outside. Lee also has godd footwork for a big man.

Looks like Korea would be there perennial top 3 contender but have a strong feeling that they will never win it all .. (Lebanon is a different case they came into the Yao Ming era in 2005)..they quick and good but they lack that one thing..

Given their preparations and low budget, they would have exceeded expectations if they finish top three. If they fall outside the top three of the knockout phase, then that is the team's realistic expectations.

Better training in terms of quality opposition. 2013 marks that their only quality opposition is found in the Jones Cup. They were supposed to train in Latvia but that was scrapped as budget is reserved for the 2014 Asian games training. Plus with the lack of budget, they don't have sorties to send their scouts abroad. They relied heavily on the Jones Cup and game footages from various media.

Philippines used to have a good budget anytime we send a national team in there..scouts would never be a problem for us due to the power of internet..and we spend also a lot on getting players abroad so sending scouts abroad isn't much an issue either

Highlight against Kazakhstan. Kim Min-Goo's marksmanship played good that night. He has come a long way from Mr. Slasher with Kyung-Hee. Now his all around game is starting to benefit Korea. He will be very good in the KBL. Reminds me of a young Kang Byung-Hyun.

Always have been. Majority of the Korean population don't follow FIBA tournaments, but they do watch sports events like the Olympics, Asian games on which Korean athletes participate as a contingent. KBA has a history of prioritizing the Asian games as per team preparations are concerned. It was their buildup for the 2006 Asian games and the 2010 Asian games that saw the Korean team become somewhat of a jet-setter through trips abroad.

with asian games out of fiba jurisdiction, some players ineligible because of the citizenship before 16 years old rule would be allowed to play. I think it would be more exciting.

I just follow them on twitter. They tweet and post on facebook a lot when offcourt. Yes, the upcoming format for the next world cup qualifiers is modeled similar to the FIFA qualifications leg where inter-domestic regions play a progressive series unlike that of today's one tournament spanning a number of days.

From what I read, Korea will be tapping more into the college players when the new format rolls around due to the potential unavailability with the KBL players and in cases where teams maybe unwilling to lend players due to the conflict of schedules. It affects it seems all the countries with leagues that extends to months.
