It seems Kim is at least 3cm taller than Lee in this picture. I like this two young men personally, they seem quite athletic, but they need more muscles to match up with bigger opponents from China and Iran.

    • Korea runs the floor very well and has several good shooters. The only problem is lack of sizes.

      • Lee jong hyun's height is 206cm, but his wingspan is 220cm.

          • Finally saw Yoo Jae-Hak's full offense on display. Guard oriented with Yang, Kim TS and Kim SH pushing up tempo with those high pick and roll. True to his Mike D'Antoni influence.

China clearly lacks a point guard in that match..but korea has a good defensive strategy against china..

Liu Xiaoyu will get better in time. Giannakis trusts him. Guo Ailun is still not 100% and Chen Jianghua has a mental issue in regards with composure. Yang Dong Geun and Kim Tae Sol were more experienced compared to Liu.

They were outsmarted by the Korean guards. Also it was clear that both teams had a very bad day both atrocious in the 3pt line. Layups missed, easy baskets missed.

if you play that kind of defense you get tired.. rhytym wouldn't be present.. as you always try to outhustle your opponent..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                    1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

I have so much respect with both teams that I expected a lot more from them. Past KOR and CHI teams did that kind of defense yet they were shooting the lights out and made basketball look easy.

If they play like that then they should give eurpoean teams run on their money.. Basketball as of today improves leaps and bounds..Gone are the big but smart plays of Seo Jang Hoon, Gong Xiao Bin and even Wang Zhizhi and here comes the peskiness and athleticism of a Yi Jian Lian, Zhou Peng, Kim Jong Kyu and Lee Seung Jun.. its just that the Korean guards outplayed the young guards of China big time in the end game..

                          • Choi Joon-Young got more minutes than he had hoped for. Against Iran, he matched up Bahrami. After being benched, Yoo Jae-Hak told Choi to study Bahrami.

                            • With the developing Kim Jong-kyu and Lee Jong-hyun, plus Ha and Oh who are missing, Korea will have a respectable frontcourt in the years to come. Backcourt has never been a problem for them. I see them consistently finishing in top-3 in Asia (or top-5 in Asia-Pacific) for the next 5 years, which they haven't been able to consistently do since 2002.

                              • With the first two games under our belt, I am still very skeptical of Jae Hak's plan and minute distribution. Being one of the more undersized team in the pool, I don't see why Lee Seung Joon isn't getting more minutes. I feel as if Lee Seung Joon and Kim Sun Hyung are being under utilized when they should be flourishing under this fast paced, run and gun offense. Thoughts on this?
