FIBA is at fault as much as the NBA.

      • Big blow for Argentina.
"The worst part is wondering how you’ll find the strength tomorrow to go on doing what you did today and have been doing for much too long, where you’ll find the strength for all that stupid running around, those attempts to escape from crushing necessity, which always founder and serve only to convince you one more time that destiny is implacable, that every night will find you down and out, crushed by the dread of more and more sordid and insecure tomorrows.~Céline

        • Nocioni is absolutely devastated with this decision of the Philadelphia 76'ers. The player said he had no pain, but the medical staff from the NBA team advise him no to play, in order to overcome the injury in the ankle.
We have to understand the decision, they pay his salary and all the costs related to injuries, Nocioni has to respect.

That is correct. And, if FIBA itself doesn't care about its own WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, why should the NBA care? And why should WE care?

didn't FIBA use a slogan "we care about basketball" or something like that a couple of years ago

              • Well Argentina is oficially done. Now they are practically playing with the same squad that got them 3rd place in Fiba Americas.

If Oberto and Argentina play shut down defense, they can still make 2nd in their group, maybe 1st if experience wins against Serbia, but I dont think they have a squad depth that can play hard for 8 games.

Brazil moves in as America's 2nd representative, but we will see how they fare without Nene.
