That's my message to international players: impress NBA scouts by playing against the world's best players, not junior college kids in the summer leagues."I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

Now Dirk Nowitzki has joined the big list of absentees, too: He declared on Tuesday, that he will not go to Turkey. After signing a new deal with the Dallas Mavericks he need time to concentrate for 100 percent for the new NBA season with the completely renovated Mavericks team.
On the other hand he confirmed his interest to take part in the 2011 European Championships, where he wants to help the German team top qualify for the Olympics 2012.

Anyways, all these absences are going to come and bite the USA in the ass. I'm going to say that they won't even finish top 10 in 2010. And for their selfishness, they're going to have to play next year in 2011. Let that be a lesson for those primadonnas who will have to play two summers of basketball rather than one (2012).Last edited by Franz; 07-20-2010, 03:50 PM.

He has constantly (and respectfully) defied Mark Cuban's idiotic stance toward international competition. It's good that he'll play in the EC...but it doesn't get much bigger than the World Championships. Disappointing news.
