Preparation games for the Spanish federation are all about getting money and making the crowd pleased, so... Plus, people still want revenge against the US because of the Olympics.

vasiliadis interview in which he confirms that there is a good chance he will be cut from the team:

I believe that Vasiliadis would be selected.

          • I really cannot wait until Greece-Serbia preparation game...it will be useful for us to loose one game before the WC actually starts, but i can predict it will be a great game...I'll just sit in front of my TV,relax, and enjoy, without any anger(well,I'll save my nerves for a real stuff, that is-WC)...like this---

The problem is that neither Sofo or Bourousis are likely to play so I guess is going to be a win for Serbia but I dont mind whoever wins....

              • It is a friendly game(in all aspects),but we need to loose one game before the WC,just to feel a taste of it,and prepare ourselves for any possible scenario...well,i hope B. and Sofo will recover,in order for you to shine in Turkey(but, make sure you do not shine more than we do,ok?)...

                  • About the final roster of Greece, IMO, assuming that both Sofo and Bouroussis will be present, Vasileiadis should be selected and Kaimakoglou should be not. With Bourou,Sofo,Vougioukas,Tsartsaris,Fotsis,Printezis ,there is no room for another player in the 4-5 positions. Moreover i dont think that Kaimakoglou has to offer something really important that those 6 players will not offer, while Vasileiadis, coming from the bench as the 12th actually player of this team, may score some 3 points and can be a key player at a difficult game against a zone, when other players might bein a bad shooting day. This team should have a classic shooter as a role player.

Vasiliadis was the second scorer of the team last night with 14p I think. And he only played for 10-15min!!! Kazla most certainly would take him.

The question is, do you really want to rely in a very crucial situation of a do-or-die game on a player which is completely unexperienced on the mens national team level? How will Vasiliadis react under pressure when the threes do not fall so easily? Nobody knows! For sure, the coach will chose the proven player and not the unexperienced one to face a critical phase.

Vasiliadis is not ready for the role you want to give him. A player needs at least one tournament to become accustomed with the team and find his place. So if Vasiliadis joins the team it will have some impact next year but not this year.

you've got a point there but then again that means he should never play in the nt cause he is inexperienced...he has to start from somewhere, i believe he deserves a chance but I'm afraid kazla will choose kaimakoglou

To be honest, I don't see him offering anything either, but I guess Kazlauskas (and Obradovic) know a little something more than we do
