If the Spaniards r smart, they will allow 50-50 officiating and lose the game. They can beat USA, but not twice imo. So they should save their good game 4 the potential final(this is what we used 2 call "pull a Greece" in the previous years).

They kind of did that in the Olympics, the first game was awful but the final was great. But I don't think they'll do that again, Scariolo isn't as smart as Aíto and losing a preparation game in Madrid is probably not an option.

Am very worrying about Greece's injuries. Bourousis is 50%-50% for Turkey and Sofo's hand seems not healing. It is a shame because the team is rolling.

Not even the US could beat Canada this bad. Hope its just a bad style matchup + very bad game for canadians.

I don't know anything about Canadian BB,but this team seem to be very young and amateurish so this game doesn't mean much.
Slovenia and Serbia will be the real test.And USA off course.

without bourousis and sofo, greece would have a hard time making it past QF. let's hope that at least one of them will make it to turkey. btw, kazlauskas said that vouyoukas and tsartsaris also had leg injuries (but not as serious). so basically greece's entire front line minus fotsis is injured in some way right now.

Greece look very impressive so far only thing I don't like, they played all games in friendly environment I wish they played some games away just too see how they do without home crowd support . But anyways they are one of the favorites to win it all.

unfortunately for us,the difference with which we beat Canada has nothing to do with actual perfomance in a serious tournament against strong teams.

Right,but some preparation games with hostile crowd would be useful for the character of the team.

apparently some idiots started booing Spanoulis and flashing him money..so it was kinda hostile the crowd.
Anyway no matter what we do,nothing would be able to prepare us with what we will face in Ankara.

In the past (before 2004-5) Greek teams always had a problem to beat theoretitcally inferior teams. Very often the games became really close and on a bad day the game was also lost. (e.g. EC 2001 Germany-Greece and Papaloukas lost freethrows)

Nowadays Greece definitely wins against these teams!

Brazil is really bad team without Splitter. Varejao looked like a little boy against Vazquez. Their backcourt is also nothing special with everyone jacking up long 3's. Our defense is doing a good job.
We played solid game without Marc and Rudy.
