this is our Lebanese national team. meaning its for the Lebanese people. and there are 38 million Lebanese worldwide.. and 50 million that go back to Lebanese descendants. 20 million of which have the right to have the Lebanese ID because they relate to Lebanon from their father's side. I believe that we have the right to give IDs to the 30 other million if we need them in sports tournaments like this one. But our stupid law enforces that only children with Lebanese father are allowed nationality, all because of the palestinian refugees won't be easily naturalised in our land (personally against that because i believe in their right to return home). But laws change in democratic countries like ours . enough politics.
We currently have around 8 players in the NCAA, maybe they will be more. You should be proud that Lebanon, an asian team, is being competitive, (maybe the only other team that has shiite players sorry for the biased comment but maybe this would convince you)..
Personally, i would be happy to see Iran going far. and you should be happy as welll, and be proud that the team u beat for the past 5 years is going far

dear Moderators and forumers, I am sorry if the lebanese national team keeps on coming in all discussions, it is just we are really getting bored from all the talks against our national team, I would love to hear ciritcism for a game, but when it gets to really this rubbish talk it gets really annoying. I am going to add a lit of all our players and their place of birth.

please, I request understanding from other forumers here, I want an unbiased answer from here to stop all of this nonsense so we can get on and enjoy this world cup.
I want to give an example first of the Fiba rules, fiba rules stats that one player can be naturalized, and that father or mather of a player be orginially from this country so he can play with their national team.
A good example is Rony Seikaly, born in Beirut, Lebanon May 10 1965, is a lebanese American basketball player, I am sure a lot of you know him, Seikaly played for the US national basketball team at the 1986 FIBA World Championship, and with the US team he won the gold medal. Seikaly was briefly included in the Lebanese National Basketball Team formation wearing the jersey #4. But after consultations with FIBA, he was dropped, since he had been part of the US national team in 1986, which disqualified him from playing for his country Lebanon.

now to come to our present National Team, if I forget anyone please comment:
                            - Jean Abdelnour: Jean Abdel-Nour (born 29 November 1983 in Beirut Lebanon) is a Lebanese basketball player with Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut of the Lebanese Basketball League. He was naturalized as a Lebanese citizen to play in the Lebanon national basketball team substituting the other naturalized American Lebanese player Joe Vogel. He is the son of former NBA player Brett Vroman, who played briefly for the Utah Jazz in the 1980-81 NBA season. ( NATURALIZED PLAYER)

                            - Ali Mahmoud(Born May 28, 1983 in Ottawa Canada) is a Lebanese Canadian basketball player currently playing with Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. He is celebrating a decade of playing with Al Riyadi Beirut where he has certainly shown he knows what it takes to be part of a successful trophy winning team. He remains very much a role player rather than a star but his versatility in the paint is a big plus. He has nice range and can make mid-range jumpers while he is more than proficient on the glass. He is a product of the junior national team programme in Lebanon and so wearing the vest with pride is something he is used to.
