france will win with big margin!!!!!! haha:P WE WILL SEE
u have to wake up!! if u are pessimistic !! then this is your problem!
i have faith in my NT!! we have a chance, we can beat NZ,Canada and reach 2nd round!!
    GOOOO LEBANON<3
Actually SOLO is absolutely right, all you guys talk about is a miracle game against France that is already in the past by the way. No one cares if you beat France once, hey Puerto Rico beat us once too, but you don't see Puertoricans shoving that into other peoples' faces or saying that they will reach the final just because of that or something like that.

I think you should stop thinking about the past and start thinking about the present, the reality is that Lebanon getting through the second round is a long shot,(but not an impossible one) and it doesn't matter how many times you guys have beaten France, that won't change the fact that you guys aren't exactly that great of a team. (I mean you didn't even qualify for this, remember?)

so honestly, just stop talking about that win against France already that's the one thing you guys always say over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over (well, you get the point), that's old news already. ONE win against a good team, that happened a million years ago won't make that team better than what they already are.

I won't be surprised to see Lebanon upsetting some big teams this time around either, just like in the past. your team can definitely do it, since you've done it before, BUT until that actually happens (if it ever does) you Lebanon's fans should honestly be realistic about it. That's my honest opinion.

    • Team Lebanon is pretty. They should not be underestimated. Nobody would be surprised if they win a big upset. Lebanese fans are simply saying that they've done it in the past and they can do it again. There is nothing wrong with that.
"I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

But its getting boring to hear that all over again. Its been four years. Dont get me wrong, I'm gonna root for Lebanon, but it goes on my nerves to read the same silly reasons why Lebanon is going to advance on this board again and again. To be realistic: Preparations are solely against Asian teams and the only serious tournament where they are facing stronger teams is four days before the WC starts.
Look at Iran and China who lost to Australia and Slovenia - Neither of them is doing well these days, but at least they are going against stronger teams.

Preparing against fellow Asian teams won't help Lebanon at all. The Ivory Coast went against Spain and did well three quarters. If Lebanon is serious about advancing, why not go against countries like Greece, Spain, Slovenia or Serbia? Wish them luck, but I am disappointed about the lack of competition (Sorry, Japan and even Iran are no real competitors. None of the teams you are testing against has a chance of making it to the Quarters..) in their preparation.

Before the resignations of the federation , the schedule was more competitive (including games against Greek teams, Czech Republic and Tunisia) but unfortunately the resignations of the federation has made things more difficult.

To answer your point , yes our team is not playing at high level but still playing against the East asian teams has its own situation.Meaning , the East Asian teams are difficult and tough bcz they run the court pretty well , and it even needs a lot of energy to defend.

I'm not 100% satisfied abt the preparations but pretty optimistic about our chances to reach the 2nd round ,the team this year is really different than last year.

hopefully we will see our real level in EFES tournament, although i doubt it. None of the teams will show its real level. Don't expect anything during lebanon vs canada game.

                • Who are Lebanon's best players? Or is it more of a team=unit situation?

                    Our best players are :

Fadi El khatib (7th best scorer in WC 2002 and 8th best scorer in WC 2006)
Jackson Vroman (Naturalized American , has a good experience in many top European leagues)
Matt Freije (Lebanese - American , and a good role player)
Rony Fahed ( one of the best shooters in Asia)

Those r the main international players that Lebanon depends on along with other players like William Pharis , Ali Mahmoud , Jean Abdelnour ...)

                    • I don't know if i'm posting in the correct thread. It's about the match schedule. It's just ridiculous. FIBA killing Basketball and WC in particular.

In four days of the group stage we have 12 games per day, but we just can watch 3 of them complete, which means 25% of the games. Why do the system isn't similar to the Olympics. With 2 groups playing alternately with the other 2. That way, the number of games per day would be 6, with 4 different game start schedule, for example: 14h00, 16h30, 19h00, 21h30. This would provide more basketball to watch and more days of competition, maybe 3 or 4 weeks.

The guys for make the 1/2 finals play 9 games in 11 or 12 days. That is also ridiculous and is also a big reason why so many players take the summer off. Playing more then 3 such tournaments in a row is brutal to the body, especially if you take into account that player go to their club for training camp immediately after the tournament is over.

                          • So far Spain and Greece are looking VERY strong. If they continue with this pace I predict a top 4 finish (along with the U.S. of course). However, as we all know, friendlies don't mean anything.

Maybe the NT's tournaments should be next to the end of the season. Maybe in the beginning of July, with the participating players taking holidays in August.

                              • a question for our American friends

Iti is not a racist question .
is this the first time in USA team that all players are Afroamericans?
                                How come?
Did someone complain about this ?

i repeat it son't a racist question (i took the idea from FIBA fan page but i thought here is a better place to ask)
