As most would say the match with Serbia had suspect events, but not much more. They were a viable threat to medal, and that's what they did. And imo Puerto Rico was closer to Greece than Greece was to Turkey in their respective matches.
I certainly agree. Last years eurobasket in Poland should have given a message to some. We played some great games, beat Spain and Serbia which took the gold and the silver. That unfortunate defeat against Greece in the 1/4f which came with additional 5min was the end of the tournament for us. The players were so eager to take a place on the podium, they just didn't concentrate in the 5-8 position games and lost both. That was pretty much psychological. But for those who watched the tournament the message should have been received.
And in this WC we qualified from the group easily, which actually isn't a hard task for any good team. Then we dominated France in the second round. And in the 1/4f we dominated Slovenia. In both games the final quarters were nothing but an opportunity for training and refreshing. IMO a team reaching to the semi final stage so easily in a WC should take more respect.

Now the next eurobasket which will be organised in Lithuania is an opportunity for the Turkish NT to prove it's success in the WC wasn't a coinsidence. A medal of any kind should be the main target. Even if a medal is not reached, some good basketball must be played. And in the long term, new players with good skills should join to show this is not a single generation work.

I dare anybody to put it here on video if there is any. In fact, I stand on my words after the game finished: Greece that night won over the hostile croud, refs, and PR.

I wish it was possible to rewatch the TURvsGRE game together with you. I wonder how you analyse Jungebranditis's desicions.

Show us the parts of the game where Greece (according to you) is favoured, and tell us which decisions were inaccurate. How many freethrows Greece shot is irrelevant. Whether the decisions were accurate or not is what matters. Make your case!

Although, I respect certain Turkish players, actually most of them, except for Asik, obviously..
Well, dont forget to mention that in the last Eurobasket 2009 in Poland Turkey lost in the quarter final to Greece in over time thanks to some ref. support for the latter team.

What such comments seem to ignore is Turkish national is not a historically successful team in basketball, only in 2000's it has the chance to win medals in such tournaments. Yet, after 2001 tournament internal competition, disputes and ego related problems of three leading players Hedo, Mehmet Okur and İbrahim Kutluay unfortunately ensured that the team will not be able to win in major tournaments. That is why actually Tanjevic did not call Okur to the team for Eurobasket 2009 when he has no injury.

Subjective! I´m sure the Greeks would say the same if it was the way around.

Fiba supports the strongest. Lebanon was supposed to host the 2011 asian championship!

china lost to iran last year so they decided to recover and asked to host the championship instead of lebanon. And boom the championship was transfered from beirut towards a chinese city. If lebanon did so would fiba agree ?

Oh and lebanon vs spain (WC game) referees cheated and fouled out jackson vroman who killed marc gazol under the paint!

It's a joke who ever pays more wins!

(qatar national team is full of naturalized africans) oh i almost forgot fiba asia's president is also qatari!

thumbs down for FIBA though we had our wild card but still it's not a reason to support fiba

SEE, Did Turkey won the first stage of group easily!!!!!!! Are you sure!!!!!!!! Puerto Rico give Turkey a big scare, Puerto Rico won the first half all the way and after Turkey dominate the third quarter easily Puerto Rico came back in the fourth quarter and get short for only two points. Man, really, Did Turkey won the first stage easy?

Greece vs. Puerto Rico, common this game was a steal in favor of Greece. The game is 77-75 Greece ahead and Nathan Peavey with the ball attack the basket and Bourrossi jump to block the shot and hit him with the elbow in the head, plus Bourrossi with one hand look for the rebound and with the other one was holding Peavey and move him around. No foul is call instead the ref call a technical to Cintron which put Greece in the free throws and that was it. It is so obvious that in the highlights they never show the foul instead they show the ref calling the technical. That call ends Puerto Rico chance to win.

even if we had lost to PR, we would still get the first place, so it's safe to say it was easy. I didn't watch it, but PR game was definitely close. I believe the referee complaint be might right as well, but it wouldn't change anything for Turkey in terms of ranking.

After all this noise, I downloaded the infamous Serbia-Turkey SF game. I'm watching it for the first time. First half is absolutely clean. I'll write my full impression when i finish the whole game.

So, I finished watching the game. There's nothing to talk about the first 3 quarters. So my notes on the last 10mins. There were a few calls that could go both ways, so i skip them (Keselj's foul on rebound, Kerem Gonlum offensive foul etc).

                                - Two fouls on Markovic (one blocking foul and the rebounding) were wrong.

                                - Omer Asik got a hit in his eye, but then decided to pull a stunt. It was a very stupid act, but Arslan could get 1 of 2 fts, so no real gain here. Still, it was plain annoying, but you cannot blame the refs here.

                                - Teodosic was trying too hard to get fouls but they were so obvious that even FIBA tv commentators mocked him, who were actually worshiping his game. These and a few others changed the psychology though, creating a victim scenario in their fans' eyes.

                                - Krstic foul on Semih Erden's last minute lay-up was wrong. He stretched then pulled back his hand. Could be honest mistake. Erden missed his FT anyway.

                                - The last sec play: Nobody thought Tunceri stepped on the line. There was a top view camera and it looks clean. Damn, no Serbian even objected. I hope the later photo showing his foot on the line is not fake (remember the photoshopped photo of Asik's block on Llull's last sec lay-up in Eurobasket2009, some people can get really low). In any case it's bad luck for Serbia. Hardly a ref mistake.

All in all, I feel much better after seeing this that we actually did not steal anything, but won a big game against a very very good opponent. But on the other hand, I'm disappointed at IBN, to be honest.
