it was an extraordinary game. serbia was almost leaded during all the game. if they lost the game i would be sad. Serbia deserved the game deeply. Congratulations to both teams.

Do detect some animosity? Only a blind man or an ignorant one would say that the referees did not affect the following games (Spain v. Greece in Madrid Eurobasket and Spain v. Greece in Turkey WC). Also, before you say anything, my honest opinion was that Spain was a better team than us all previous years from 2006 except this year.

I know the greeks will always blame the refs, instead assuming the defeat, but that's maybe a cultural question...
And I also know the FIBA Criminals Saga will continue, with some new episodes. Maybe it's time to start another season

congrats to serbia, they were better whole game. if serbia didn't miss so many ft it would be easy winn. spain paid for tighting defense to stop krstic so serbia had lot of open 3's. and at end.....nothing to say....just...tedodsic!

Spain had been the strongest European team in the previous four years (regardless that last-minute loss in the 2007 finals). Serbia should be the one in the upcoming years.

You are definetly right. To build a domination like Serbia under the name Yugoslavia from 1995-2002 is very difficult and perhaps will not happen anymore. Basketball has changed with the fall of USSR and SFRJ and to win a medal should be a success for most of the countries.

So you do not think that referees can affect the outcome of a game? And you are wrong, no one in Greece is actually blaming the referees... not the players, not the greek basketball authority... its the fans that can see that even though Spain and Greece are equals, Spain is just a bit more equal than Greece. I refer to my previous post where I did mention that Spain has for the most part of the last 5 years been a better team and that it was for this reason that they did not require help from the refs. Especially in the Eurobasket in Madrid where every one of my Spanish friends here in London until this day admit that Spain was favored and had a horrible attitude as a team.
