Talbians played for us since 1992. Yugoslavia since 1992 was Serbia, not to compare with Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1991. In this 18 year period Serbia won 5 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. The next country is Spain with 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
Since the fall of SFRJ and USSR the situation in basketball has changed totaly. Even with the bad years from 2003-2008 we are by far the best team after the USA in the new history of basketball.
And not to forget that we started to play in 1995.

Since 2002 until 2007 at senior level not success has to be credited.
This said, Yugoslavia is the most sucessfull after the US... but it was not Serbia "alone", not even in 2002 or 2005...

Before you speak you have to know :
Note that FIBA considers the records of SFR Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union distinct from FR Yugoslavia/Serbia and Montenegro/Serbia and Russia, respectively.[3] The Republic of Serbia is the legal successor of the Serbia and Montenegro/FR Yugoslavia team.
So for this WC tournament its officially
Rank↓ Nation↓ Gold↓ Silver↓ Bronze↓ Total↓
1 USA 3 3 4 10
2 Yugoslavia 3 3 2 8
2 Soviet Union 3 3 2 8
4 Brazil 2 2 2 6
5 Serbia 2 0 0 2
6 Argentina 1 1 0 2
7 Spain 1 0 0 1
8 Russia 0 2 0 2
9 Greece 0 1 0 1
10 Chile 0 0 2 2
11 Philippines 0 0 1 1
11 Germany 0 0 1 1
11 Croatia 0 0 1 1
Serbia already has the most Eurobasket titles of all the existing nations in just 18 years.

For me, our win in this game is more predictable than the one against Croatia. We survived the Croats and I see this as, not an easy game, but as a more certain positive outcome for us. We're up-and-coming, Spain is old news, they are read and everybody just keeps rewriting their name into the next round out of habit. You need to stop here, because Dr Ivkovic and our crazy youngsters have something to say, not tomorrow, but right now.
Keys:
1. Dr Ivkovic vs Mr Scariolo
2. A few bitch-slaps over the hands of Ricky, Bombarro and Rudy at the start of the game - as shown by Mr Bozic
3. Rebounds - we've spent our bad rebounding day against Croatia
4. Llull - will screw it up for the Spaniards
5. Tepic & Teodosic finally rising up to the challenge
6. Markovic & Paunic - solution for the ESP guards
7. Dr Ivkovic vs Mr Scariolo
At best - Serbia wins by 15; worst case scenario - Serbia wins by 5sigpic

Second, I did not say that Yugoslavia this and that. What I said is that even if Serbia recordwise speaking is granted Yugoslavian sucess, it is not Serbia alone to be granted the personal record.
Third, the point is that Serbia with only Serbian players has still to prove they are back. They have a fantastic generation who will probably win Eurobaskets, Mundobaskets and the Diamond ball but they haven´t yet.
Fourth, Serbia gets the Yugoslavia (SFRJ and FR) sucess as its own. Fine. But it is not the case for Russia and the Soviet Union. I was also objecting that point.

From 1995. until not all or 11/12 players for Yugoslavian NT were Serbians.
You may fancy Spain, but Spain is not in a same league when basketball is counted, both success and tradition. You have your golden generation, but that is not even close to how many golden generations Yugoslavia, or Serbia gave.
Serbia hasn't won basketball world championship, I guess Athens and Indianapolis doesn't count, lets check Indianapolis Yugoslavia NT:
4 Bodiroga | 5 Koturović | 6 Čabarkapa | 7 Rakočević | 8 Stojaković | 9 Radmanović | 10 Jarić | 11 Drobnjak | 12 Divac | 13 Vujanić | 14 TomaÅ¡ević | 15 Gurović | Coach: PeÅ¡ić
Players from Serbia 11, players from Montenegro 1.
And what means professional levels, you mean we didn't win against NBA American team, well guess again and look at Indianapolis 2002. It wasn't their best stars, same as this championship, but that was NBA team.
So, my advice, stop writing about things you don't know and don't care to look, find and learn.

What I meant by professional level, dear clever clugs, is that Serbia has indeed been WC already, in Under 20 levels....
