You have to put into account what the player has done for the team. If he team did not qualify for the next round he should not be on that list period.
Everyone here is naming stats as well. This is not how it works. I can name a good example of this: Teodosic. He doesn't have spectacular stats but he makes up 70% of our offense. He carries this team on his back. Now, he's only played a few games thus far, so I doubt he'd qualify for Team of tournament as of now but it was an example. Durant has been another player carrying the load on team USA even though he's a selfish player.

Actually, stats alongside with final standings will determine the All-Tournament Team, no doubt about it. I agree with you when say some non-stats players are very important to the team. Imo, the best player in this conditions is Dimitris Diamantidis. I've watched Greece against Turkey, Russia and Puerto Rico and I really appreciated his efficiency on offense (solid 3PT shooter) and his greatness on defense.

Neither. What happened in the preliminary round is totally pointless to decide the MVP or All-tournament team, what matters is what happens from today.

On a bad team a decent player gets so many more touches and the other team is more relaxed defensively because they know the team they are playing is bad. Whereas on a good team, which may have more options on offense, you are getting the other team's best effort every night and you probably won't get as many touches.

Also consider that a great player on a bad team will be subject to special defensive schemes, such as more double teams. That is why I tend to think that individual dominance on a bad team is more difficult, or at least, can be more difficult.
