  • Group D, day 6, Lebanon vs. Lithuania

This game will not change anything in group D. On the other hand, both teams have something to prove. Lebanon will want to go out with the bang and Lithuania will want to take a flawless 1st place in the group D, to keep a Green Tank rolling.

Who will win? Will Lithuanians continue to dominate or will Lebanon manage to kneel them down before leaving ?

lithuania are very tough.. i don't think we have a chance in beating them..but if we play like today and we try to keep the foul trouble under control, we might lose by 10+ otherwise it will be a blow out for us with a 30+ but i hope not..
well good luck for our national team tomorrow and i wish they could pull off an upset against lithuania

As the game is a dead rubber, I hope we use our full bench for most the game to make it interesting and avoid injury.

Yeah I want us to use more the guys who have been struggling so far.

So my idea of starting five would be.

          C.Andriuskevicius
          PF. Klimavicius
          SF. Jasaitis
          SG. Gecevicius
          PG. Delininkaitis

Let the guys who get lion share of minutes rest more in this one. Play Gecevicius more in hopse he finds his rhythm again and try to see how Andriukevicius plays for a longer period.

Gecevičius and AndriuÅ¡kevičius should play 35+ minutes. Gecevičius should not be substituted, until scores couple theepointers in a row.

Lithuania will still play for the win but they will not be playing 100% full power.
Jasaitis and Javtokas are slightly injured from the previous games so I think coach Kemzura will not play them today as they need these next few days to recover well and be ready for the further rounds.

I also think Kleiza, if he will play, will have very limited minutes on court.

I hope both teams play a nice game today.

I expect Lithuania to beat Lebanon by 15 points 87-72.

OT: I'm happy that we have a young Lebanese "Maarouf" who is helping in covering for all the statistics for all of Lebanons' games as well as those of the Lithuanian national team here in Izmir

I'm always telling the Lithuanian fans that I am meeting here in Izmir that basketball in Lebanon is very popular and is the number 1 sport in Lebanon.

We both have small populations (less than 5 million) but yet we have great basketball loving fans.

OT: One Lithuanian guy yesterday was in shock when I discussed with him in details about the players of Lithuanian NT as well as previous and future rising talents in Lithuania (He kept saying "I can't believe a Lebanese person knows so much about Lithuanian basketball" ).
At the end of the night he even invited me to go to Lithuania for next years' European championship .

I'm seeing Kerdito in the stadium every day and sometimes outside the stadium as well but Maarouf is quite busy. I didn't get the chance to meet him yet.
