It's done!! New Zealand get a big win over Canada (71-61), almost clinching a spot on the knockout stage. Another goog performance for the Tall Blacks in the WC

This game really is a must win for Canada, but even a win would probably not be enough.

Kirk Penney in the 2010 FIBA-WBC:
vs. Lithuania: 1 triple
vs. Spain: 3 triples (+2)
vs. Lebanon: 6 triples (+3)
His three-points production is increasing as he played more games into the tournament... so the Canucks are screwed...

I vote Canada, Although Logic say New Zealand,
my vote is only from a strategic point of view, Who knows MAYBE and a big MAYBE can still hope for my National Team, although I doubt it.
it is Basketball, Anything can happen

The Tall Blacks will annihilate the Canucks... Kirk Penney and Tom Abercrombie will dominate this game...
Anyway, before the 2008 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.. New Zealand played Lebanon and Canada in a three-nations invitational.. and New Zealand struggled against Canada... I forgot who won the game but that was the last time the two teams played against each other...

Well, once again I'll be rooting for Canada. I feel bad for them after 3 close losses. But still, I think New Zealand has better chances.

Canada is such a strange team. They lost against Lebanon but then gave an hard time to Lithuania and France. The same happened on warmups (win over France before having an hard loss against Greece).
I think New Zealand will win but is going to be a balanced game.

I would love for my neighbors from the north to notch a victory, but New Zealand beat Lebanon and Lebanon has beaten Canada already, so logic prevails: New Zealand over Canada. The Canadian program is still 4-6 years away from making an impact on the international stage. They have some good young players coming up the pike but it's going to take time before we see a team as competitive as the 2000 Canadian Olympic squad.
