Congrats for New Zealand and hard luck for my team!

Their Serbian coach simply outclassed our whole team , they just presented a great basketball , great teamwork and great spirit and honestly we deserve the loss as it is although i have a little blame on the referees for being biased a little (to clarify my point : we deserve the loss 100% but also the referees counted a stupid technical foul on Freije but did not give attention when the New Zealand player hit aggressively Rony Fahed!

Anyway again congrats for the Tall Blacks this great show , and i hope from people to respect us , to respect our situation now , and don't use this to disrespect and attack us.

He's Serbian but he's a product of New Zealand basketball.. he grow up here and was Tab Baldwin's assistant coach for a long time.. I guess the win today meant more for him on a personal level since they're both close friends..

The Kiwis pretty much knows how to play against the old Baldwin system.. looks like the Kirk Penney is in the right path to become the second New Zealander to name in the all-tournament team since Pero Cameron in 2002..

Anyway, good luck to Lebanon.. underdogs can be spoilers.. they can ruin any basketball powers' world championship campaign.. and anything can still happen for the next two games..

I think we are assuming that Spain and France defeat all these teams. If that is the case Cananda will only have 1 win if they beat NZ.

As this is WC an upset of Spain or France could be on the cards again. I dont think we will beat Spain as we have been struggling against them for quite some time now and France seems to be playing really good at the moment.

I just checked the rules and it seems the spreadsheet is wrong and my initial calculations are right. Could this be true? The 2008 rules (the site has 2010 rules, but they are effective on Oct 1, 2010, so we must go by 2008 rules), clearly state that goal difference between games played among tiebreaking teams counts in multi-team tiebreaker.

I think that people here might actually overrate Lebanon a little bit. If you look at the polls against France and NZ, most people thought that Lebanon would win ( Which may be due to the fact that there quite a lot of Lebanese fans here who are voting mainly with their heart) .
At the end, both results weren't even close, the Cedar team got comprehensively beaten twice by better teams! Lebanon win against Canada, will unfortunately, likely be their only one during those Wchamps.

If you want more objective polls, you should look at the predictions game. Most people predicted a win by NZ there.

do u know why? because we over hype the team. the only thing i am glad with this game is that it brought us back to earth again.

why is everybody here and on LBC so stupid it doesnt have to be point differential , it never does with leb cuz they always lose their games by alot and win their games by a few points ....the calculation now is if canada beat NZ tomorrow and leb wins 1 of their last 2 games , preferably against lithuania this way both canada and NZ end up with just 1 win and lebanon has 2 to finish 4th most probably ...this ofcourse with canada and NZ losing on their 5th game as well ...NZ are too tall and physical for lebanon who have vroman and freijeh under the basket a power and small forward playing as a center and power forward ...best lineup against a team like NZ should be freijeh at 3 , vroman at 4 and a physical center like ali kanaan or roy samaha at 5 but roy samaha preferred going to crepaway everyday and gained too much weight

our problem (not only in sports) is not by starting, but we do not know how to end things.
i put money on the fact that if we faced one of NZ or France first, we would have won, and then lost against Canada the next day.
