It's not exaggerating to say China and PR are unlikely rivals. Proofs:
2005
2006
Anyway this is the most important match of this group IMO. Puerto Rico is desperate for a first win while China wants to revenge a 16-point loss earlier this month in New York City. Whoever wins this game can very well squeeze into the quarterfinals.
Compared to the New York game, Puerto Rico will miss Ayuso, Arroyo and/or Balkman (I think?) for various reasons, big losses indeed. But trying to contain guys like JJ Barea can be a major challenge. Expect guys like 205cm Sun Yue or 205cm Zhou Peng to chase that midget around at least during mismatches as China will undoubtedly go zone. Inside the paint, Yi had been an animal the last 2 games against short centers but last time in New York he struggled mightily against PJ Ramos, who played a season in where else -- China. Other than Ramos China does have height advantages in other positions and hopefully the outside jumpers can fall tomorrow. And finally, even though I'm not positive about China's chances, I'd like to challenge K2 to a signature bet once again just for the heck of it. At least to prove that the rivalry exists.
