Fair enough but Australia almost defeated Argentina.

I don't understand why Coach Brown uses Adam Gibson at the starting 2 spot.

In my opinion, he needs to use Brad Newley and Joe Ingles at the starting 2 and 3 spot. These guys have experience in international competition and both are playing in European Leagues.

Hopefully, the Boomers can bounce back and I'm sure they will.

awful game for the Aussies. Such a predictable gameplan to pound it into Maric/Andersen all game long. Sure it got them home in the end as they wore Jordan's big men down, but what a waste of Patty Mills (one of the fastest guards in the world), Brad Newley and Joe Ingles. Surely a Mills/Ingles pick'n'roll with Andersen should be a staple diet of their offence? We didn't see any of that!

If the Aussies want to advance, the guards have to get a lot more involved and find their rhythm early. Hopefully this was just shaky nerves for a very young Australian team.

On the plus side, this was my first time watching Maric, and he was damn impressive. Adam Gibson the starting 'two guard'? Not so much.

    WELL DONE JORDAN!

Though it was not the result Aussies and Aussie fans wanted to see, it was great for international basketball that the gap between the traditional basketball powers and newcomers such as Jordan are shrinking.

For those who are familiar with Jordan basketball and those who watched the game, since I was not able to watch it, how much of a difference was ex-Angola Coach Mario Palma has been for the Jordanian Team and during this game?

I'm hoping that the Boomers can bounce back and try to grab wins against Germany, Angola and possibly Argentina to ensure their passage to the next round.

I would disagree with you that the Boomers are overrated but I do believe and I'm sure you would that there should ONLY be one spot for FIBA Oceania. It is unfair to rising basketball regions such as Asia and Latin America that another region where only two competitive basketball nations have immediate entry into the Olympics and World Championships.

The Boomers are a great team and without their NBA Star Player (Bogut) and key team member in former and now European based Nathan Jawai, the team definitely suffered greatly. I believe with Bogut's presence, Bogut would have obviously drawn a lot of the opposition's defence thus, opening things up in the perimeter.

It will be interesting to see whether the Boomers can bounce back immensely or will they crumble out of the competition.

    Exactly!

Though the lads may have lost this game, it doesn't mean that the Boomers do not deserve to be here.

It's about time to either merge Asia and Oceana zones or allot more slots for the Asian Teams.
Lost what? We won by a point.

And I do agree that FIBA Oceania and Asia should combine...
