wasted talent. france has some of the most fascinating players but their attitude and commitment to their country are worse then American players. by the way why in the world did germany,russia and lithuania get wild cards?dirk,kirlenko and saras lobbyied for it and none of them are here. the dominicans would have been a good choice with 4 nba players.they should have waited till june 2010 to give the wild cards so fiba would not have been shafted by these drop outs. germany without dirk and kaman is not better than dominicans?

It is his attitude off the court mostly. Watch a couple of interviews in Spanish and English. Very egoistic, arrogant, he thinks he's godsend. And I do not like him being compared to Pete Maravich. When Pete was his age, he was averaging 44ppg, when there were no three lines.
And concerning him being a clutch player, let's just wait and see how he will deal with it without Gasol in Turkey. Gasol is a beast, while Ricky is still just a spoiled kid.

Actually, Ricky is a pretty humble and nice kid. It's just that he doesn't really know how to handle interviews and sometimes he comes off as an egocentric. Until he was eighteen he was very protected by his parents and team and then when he started to give interviews everything got out of control.
Off course us Joventut fans are still really dissapointed in him, but that's another story.
Also, I think he's still far from being a clutch player. He's great at running the team, but not winning the games.

and about the NTs i too think that Spain NT is overestimated on the big majority

Dream Team ... or Team that is Dreaming?

It would be so good to once again be able to see the USA fall again in this World Championship!

I can't believe it that they once again have sent a second rate team to the World Championships. However, they did send a pretty good team back in 2006 which featured LeBron, D-Wade and Co.

It's unusual that the Yanks are the only ones who do not feel that the World Championships are more important than the Olympics. While everyone is trying to send their very best to the toughest major international basketball tournament, due to lack of media coverage compared to the Olympics, USA Basketball have not sent their "Big Names" to the WC.

I could imagine them finishing less than 4th because there's no chemistry compared to the other international teams who have played together for years, their game plan is to run the competition to the ground but ... that's why USA of the past would try to do and that didn't work, they lack height which will affect their rebounding thus, will affect their chance to run the floor in transition and most importantly, the lads on the other team, I believe take greater pride in playing for what is on the front than what is on the back.

The opposing teams have nothing to loose against the Yanks but the Yanks have everthing to loose against teams that feature lads that do not earn the multi-$$$ contracts.

Prediction: USA finishes ... 5th

I didn't refer NBA anywhere!!! Yes, it's true spanish people doesn't like too much to talk in other languages...
