Any particular reason for the anti-Ricky-ness? I've never come across anyone who didn't think he was handling all the pressure with poise.
I will say that the pre-draft build-up and summer long drama were childish and unnecessary, but I'm willing to chalk that up to his agent and circle of advisors. Anyways, interested to hear your answer.
Peace.
It is his attitude off the court mostly. Watch a couple of interviews in Spanish and English. Very egoistic, arrogant, he thinks he's godsend. And I do not like him being compared to Pete Maravich. When Pete was his age, he was averaging 44ppg, when there were no three lines.
And concerning him being a clutch player, let's just wait and see how he will deal with it without Gasol in Turkey. Gasol is a beast, while Ricky is still just a spoiled kid.
Personally I don't like the fact that more than half of them are not french. Not fair again. Not all countries had their colonies to import players from
Go say to them they're not French. They would smash your face to pieces!

You're lying, and you know it. Ricky being arrogant? Saying that, it's clear that you don't know Ricky and you've never seen him talking in an interview. What if you quote some of those interviews where Ricky is supposed to be arrogant?

Wow, that's really arrogant, huh?
Ricky is ALWAYS humble and nice to everybody. It's not that we spaniards hate him. That's what happens with all genious: you gotta love him or hate him. Spaniards always hate on Gasol, Rafa Nadal, Fernando Alonso... It's just envy. I know it's sad, but that's how it is.
1) Greece wins gold
2) Greece beats Spain
3) Spain and Team USA are out before the SF
4) Spain or Team USA are out before the SF
5) Spain and Team USA are DQF from the WC because they miss the plane
Yes, but tell us how you really feel, Gyro.

Here we go again with the "big ego" talk. Folks should probably get to know the team a little better before throwing out generalizations based on the 12 guys from the Olympic squad.
In the past, I probably would've voted that I want to see our team lose. I usually support the underdog. But this year, I don't know. I like the team. I think Durant is a great young man and Chauncy Billups always hustles. This team cannot really on the sexiness that the Redeem Team had. They're going to build their own identity.
They're the favorites, I think, but I still like them.
If Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose are overly egotistical than Darko's hair looks better bleached.
Youch!
"I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

Hmmm... This is a new interview. I haven't seen that one. I just remember his talk about the nba draft. He was all cocky for being chosen in the top 10. I cannot really find this interview, but I remember it.
In any case, I'm glad that he's changed. Or so, it would appear.
We'll see. :7
Germany simply because they cant play basketball. Also too many naturalized players and no Dirk this year.
I am sorry but there is not a single naturalized player in this year's German team. Demond Greene has a German mother and Elias Harris has been born in Germany and plays basketball in Germany since his infancy.
This team is full of young German prospects. I highly respect the effort of the German basketball federation and I hope that these guys will be successful. However successful imo means to not be eliminated in the group stages.
wasted talent. france has some of the most fascinating players but their attitude and commitment to their country are worse then American players. by the way why in the world did germany, russia and lithuania get wild cards?dirk, kirlenko and saras lobbyied for it and none of them are here. the dominicans would have been a good choice with 4 nba players.they should have waited till june 2010 to give the wild cards so fiba would not have been shafted by these drop outs. germany without dirk and kaman is not better than dominicans?
