They probably don't mean unique TV viewers. They just mean 76 games * 13 million TV viewers per game = 1 billion.

I don't understand this mindset, Vuvuzelas are barely in any basketball game, so why would it's banning lead to Basketball being like tennis? It's banning doesn't effect crowd noise at all. It only prevents the game sounding like an annoying ever present hive of bees.

Vuvuzelas are, like, a cultural thing. You wouldn't understand. You're from Detroit.

So are they like a mourning wail for the city of Cleveland every time something horrible happens? How in the world does this pertain to Turkey?

FIBA has become the first international sports federation to officially ban vuvuzela. The ban includes also other air horns.
Yeah, very good decision, especially for the bold part. There were no vuvuzelas so far maybe but those horns are terrible in every way imaginable. Especially little kids like them, and they make you feel guilty as you want to slap their head and throw them all down the stairs.

Is there a particular wind instrument in Turkey that the fans can use during FIBA WC games?

                NOOOO!

I was starting to enjoy the vuvuzela presence in the PBA. and now they've banned it in the WORLDS!

Vuvuzela is music to my ears!

                /sarcasm on the last part.

besides, tell me on which basketball game did you hear vuvuzelas..
does are mostly sirens in cans..
now we will be hearing deafening sound of sneakers on parquet.. especially on NT games.. great..
What the hell are you talking about lol? Are you drunk haha? Nobody said they would outlaw cheering, chanting, clapping, yelling, drums etc. They are just afraid that the vuvuzel crap will spill over into basketball and rightfully so, because last year in Katowice there were already fans with small, fucking annoying horns, and it sucked, good thing there were a lot more people without them, but it still didn't drown them out completely.
I see a lot of people today with vuvuzels, and they are becoming an annoying trend, one, which FIBA thankfully nipped in the bud, and with one swoop also outlawed those other small plastic horns of which i don't know the name, but are equally annoying.
If a person is too lazy to cheer then sit your ass down, if its too hard to whistle, scream, clap and sing, then don't do anything at all, don't blow a fucking annoying horn just because it makes a lot of noise...

I'd rather have complete silence at a basketball game then this crap:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

God it makes me sick to my stomach to even think about it...

Hey, the Pistons called me last night. They want to know if, uh, they want to know why they suck so bad. Also, the Lions called. They suck, too.
