Nope, just wanted to give the detailed information about the location of Turkey, also some numbers.

Istanbul safe city??? which planet are you living on?
      Eat this:
BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

Several explosions of 2005, bigger terrorist attack of 2008 and fresh police bus bombing 2010.
Sure I ain't saying something's gonna happen, but to call Istanbul safe is ridiculous exaggeration.

LOL: I am not talking about crime, I am talking about several bomb explosions during few years with lot of dead bodies, some of which even Istanbul mayor himself called terrorism.
Haven't heard that happening in Singapore, Tokyo, Berlin or Tallinn.

                  good one

well about security in istanbul ; Istanbul has around 15.000.000 population, when you compare it with a city, be aware of that this city has the same population cause as far as i read the statistics says istanbul's crime rate is less than many cities in the world.

didn't search much about the others,I think that is enough evidence already.

Evidence? So for you 1 idiot's bomb "threat" and "few injuries" in other city are enough evidence to compare them to tens of bombings, some of them terrorist attacks, during last 6-7 years? LOL

Anyone, enough of the BS, my point was NOT that Istanbul is the crime or terrorist capital of the world, but it doesn't rank very high on the safest cities list, as much as some hotheads here try to prove it with ridiculous comparisons.
And I sure agree some European and/or American cities may not be much safer than Istanbul, I never argued otherwise.

I believe World Cup gonna be carried out peacefully, but you never know. That's it. I'm done with this topic.

hmmm..so in the same post you say that the 2 are not comparable but Instambul fares the same in terms of safety as most 1rst world big cities-which are by definition some of the safest places such big organisations could ever be hosted..

..I ask..does this make any sense to you????

personaly my theory is that this is just playing small political cards to get some more suport home for war in iraq and afganistan...tough i always have crazy theorys

anyway i doubt istanbul is less safer from some other big citys in world, especially for such big event. knowing mentality in such region that cares a lot on tradition and pride i have no doubt turks are going to make evrything so evryone feals safe and welcome, much better and with more heart than some "safe western" countries. this is just preduce, but based on that i could say they wouldn't be much safer in harlem, at least not anything valuable on them. so
                          Jordi Bertomeu sucks!
