This is a joke, like everything in Fiba. Latvia had great WC, but you can go from 30 to 8 just because you beat Lithuania in meaningless game for 5th place. Lithuania was first in the group winning against USA. On the other hand you have silver medalist Serbia behind Australia. Something is wrong.

Only Canada and Latvia(beat nr1) and many other good teams!
Latvia(as nr 30) beat many favorites, and beat with huge margins.

You get most points if you are very low seed, and win by big margins!

Latvia lost only to two teams outside top10(which is good), if they lost to top 3 teams(they don't get points as much)

We can thank to other two latvian coaches(they didn't play in 2019 World Cup, 2022 Eurobasket)!

So basically latvian ranking consists only Eurobasket 2017, World Cup 2023!

Serbia (number 6) still had a defeat from lower-ranking Italy (number 10), which is why it earned 45 points, and not even more. Australia simply had a lead.

System seems to be very focused on knockout games and some 8-year-ago tournaments r not taken into account anymore – thus deletes Serbia good performance in 2015 from ranking

112-34= 78 winning positions(against highest ranking opponents)- giving the most points in tournament by far!

How often you see team nr30 beating team nr1 and nr6?

And this is not football where team nr30 can beat nr1, nr6!

You can look this way- team who not played In Eurobasket 2022(not the best top24 Euro team) beat top teams in the world.

And this is World Cup which gives most points(WC gives 2,5 points, OS 2 and Eurobasket gets 1)!

Fiba is the most idiotic organisation ever. They lost best European clubs because of their idiotic management and looking at this ratings and referees, it's like looking at amateur organisation.

If Slovenia was ranked like 20th place and beatings all favorites and winning World cup they get to the podium in World rankings.
