Lithuania federations head said to ltu media they are not interested in hosting qualification 2024 tournament.

But yeah good point 4 hosts will pay big money to fiba and will put demands in return and that w can make again not equal strenght groups

Yes, but in the same qualification system for 2020 (FIBA later deleted the document, but it remained online) there was the same point. Most likely, the rule was canceled due to the inability to ensure health safety. What's stopping now?

That's only in theory. No African federation and potentially only a few from the Asian federation (China but they're not qualified) and Brazil from the Americas (since Canada qualified and Argentina are out) could afford it. My prediction is we'll either have 4 European hosts but since Fiba wouldn't like that they'd probably accept the only non European bid.

I guess there's not a single non European country aside of Brazil that would like to potentially throw away 3M since their chances to qualify are either way minimal.

After seeing how 4 strong NTs Canada,Serbia,Lithuania,Croatia all 4 failed to qualife in 2021

Is this 3 million figure a “fee” to FIBA just for having the “honor” to host a OQT or is it how much the actual tournament costs?

BTW; everybody is guessing does Embiid play for USA or France. Is he said somewhere that he is not playing for Cameroon? They qualified to OQT. And what about Siakam?

Exactly: if Embiid plays with USA/France while his fellow Cameroonians are still trying to qualify, he really is just a troll. With Siakam and Koloko they really would have a strong front court. He can get for sure an NBA level guard to join as a naturalised even (his teammate Tyrese Maxey??) and really have concrete chances!

As for Phillipines, that's far from being a wise move for them. After 2014, they have gone winless in the last two OQTs and 2019 WC, while they recorded one victory in 5 or 6 games in this tournament. What makes them so confident to throw away 3M to get knocked out by a Euro team ?

Because nobody else doens't want to pay 3M to Fiba. I wouldn't be surprised If both of them will host.

Indonesia just hosted WC without their on NT. It's money and nothing else matter.
