I mean, I was very worried for a second there, that the Germans were just notably better than us and simply won accordingly.
But yeah, it could be that our guys tanked nevertheless, to feel better about themselves: Hey we didn't lose because they were better, but because we wanted to! They're just keeping it a low profile, not saying it out loud, because it sounds kind of kindergarden-ish argument...

I feel for Latvia, they beat Brazil, Spain, France and Italy and they still won’t make it to the Olympics due to massive competition from other European teams.

It’s time to make the World Cup the most prestigious tournament, olympics can’t have that status when they include lesser teams for the sake of equal participation.

Since France's disqualification, it has been certain that in order a European team to make it to the Olympics it was necessary to advance at least to the semifinals. I don't think that 2 European teams out of 4 top of the competition was something unpredictable. Massive competition from European teams would mean having to advance to the final in order to make it to the Olympics.

I think Serbia tanked versus Italy so that they'd get the United States rather than Lithuania in the QFs but despite the failure of the Serbs' grand design it still worked out for them.

Im not talking about Lithuania or Slovenia and talking overall NTs who strongly goes only on shooting cant sustain making those shots for 6-7 games to win medal

Of course its about quality of roster,but i dont believe in NTs who scores 70% on jumpers to win medals.

Yes, one dimensional teams tend to meet their Waterloos. The teams with the best, most diverse tools in their kit so that they can take advantage of what the opposing team is giving them have a big advantage in these tournaments.

In retrospect it looks pretty clear that Australia was probably a much better team than Slovenia and they showed it against Germany, but Gorjaan had to outcoach himself with his idiotic stop Luka and leave everybody else open plan. A pity, Australia-Canada would have been a much better match-up to watch.

Italy owns match up against us in the last two years for some reason, even when we lead by 16 points in third quarters they come back and beat us, the last three games we played against them were exactly the same way.

How does the outcome of the match between USA and Germany change anything about the ridiculous statement made by somebody that Slovenia lost on purpose by 30 points against Germany without Franz Wagner?
