So, how was it not working then? In a game vs Italy Jokić dropped 32 in 28 minutes and Serbia was +12 with him on the court, and we lost by 8. Do the math, the reason why we failed to win is definitely not because of Jokić.

Jokić was not misused but rather underused. If your team is -20 in 12 minutes without Jokić, you should have played him few minutes more and secure the win. But nevertheless, that Serbian team wouldn't win anything because everyone was just thinking that Jokić alone was going to be enough.

Note that all these assumptions are following the draw rules of the 2019 World Cup. FIBA has yet to announce the 2023 Draw Rules so perhaps it could look quite different.
Current Pots based on Current FIBA Ranking
Pot 1: Philippines, Spain, USA, Australia
Pot 2: France, Serbia, Slovenia, Lithuania
Pot 3: Greece, Italy, Germany, Brazil
Pot 4: Canada, Venezuela, Montenegro, Iran
Pot 5: Puerto Rico, Finland, Dominican Republic, New Zealand
Pot 6: China, Latvia, Mexico, Georgia
Pot 7: Jordan, Japan, Angola, Lebanon
Pot 8: Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, South Sudan, Cape Verde
Expected Pots based on Geographical Balancing
Pot 1: Philippines, Spain, USA, Australia
Pot 2: France, Serbia, Slovenia, Lithuania
Pot 3: Greece, Italy, Germany, Brazil
Pot 4: Canada, Venezuela, Montenegro, Iran
Pot 5: Puerto Rico, Finland, New Zealand, Latvia
Pot 6: Dominican Republic, China, Mexico, Georgia
Pot 7: Jordan, Japan, Angola, , Cote d'Ivoire
Pot 8: Lebanon, Egypt, South Sudan, Cape Verde
* Latvia (highest ranked European from Pot 6) and DR (Lowest Ranked Americas from Pot 5) switch
** Lebanon (lowest ranked Asian from Pot 7) and Ivory Coast (highest ranked African from Pot 8) switch
Draw Scenarios

Note the one change from the last time I posted this is that Latvia and Finland are no longer an option for Pot C - due to geographical balancing of Asia. Either NZL or IRN must be in this Pool (and away from AUS and PHI).
Once again - if you see any flaws in my logic here, please point it out.
Host's group will be worse than an European qualification group for a second straight tournament. Joke.1997 - 2012 - 2013

This is the way of FIFA as well.
it is intentional as an award to the host to give them the best chance to stay alive and have home games as long as possible.
im much more concerned at the relatively much easier path some other lucky nations will benefit from by drawing into the hosts pool or the cross over pool.
so much for competitive integrity.

This is not taking away anything from your basketball tradition, the point is sadly that after decades only trophies and glory are remembered, circumstances are lost, just like the Lithuanian rosters from the 30s. Nobody likes the naturalised player rule, yet you have a roster in your signature containing both Matas Buzelis and Ignas Brazdeikis. I guess if you want them both, other teams can have one? ; )

Are you Lithuanian, right? I heard even Lithuania planning to naturalized Keenan Evans from Zalgris... It just means do you also lost respect to your country too?
Absolutely. If USA will naturalize non-American player, it will be the biggest travesty...Even worse than random dude Brown playing for Spain...
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:
Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
Buzelis, Lelevicius
Murauskas, Sirvydis
Tubelis, Krivas

Two of the three titles you have in your resume have been achieved with a full line-up of players born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Frank Lubin fled your country back to his native California when WWII broke out and continued playing basketball there. So did the others.

The same with Iggy Brazdeikis. He naturalized only because he played for Canada U16 and U17. But his general dream was always to play for Lithuania. Both of his parents are pure Liths and they as family used to watch LTU NT games in the states. So, how can you compare such cases when Lithuanian emigrants are playing for their national team with cases when random Americans represent random countries? It's has no connection literally. Even if there was no naturalization rule, Iggy would have chances to represent Lithuania. Our federation was saying that there were few ways to sort this out as he is obviously Lithuanian.
Buzelis and Indrusaitis won't need anything to represent Lithuania, no naturalization needed. They are Lithuanians with passports and never represented other countries (the only reason why Brazdeikis is "naturalized"). Buzelis chose LTU instead of USA. So all emigrant studs in Brazdeikis, Buzelis, Indrusaitis will be able to play in one LTU team.LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:
