Doncic announced he's in. It's strange but Luka is No.3 in steals in NBA thus far. Does he playing defence these days? Anyway, he's having sort of MVP kind of season and he's not gonna skip NT. Slovenia is lucky.

Another guy, Canadian SGA is also pretty much playing like MVP and is also top 5 in steals in NBA. I think for Canada he would be that different maker, he's top 10 NBA player this season. Not sure what Canada will collect, but let's face it, this year they can gather the best Canadian roster ever theoretically. To some extent SGA is newly born superstar in basketball and that happened this season exactly.

I think Australia still will be very good team cause I think Giddey, Exum can boost their back-court and they still can field all NBA starting line-up basically. Depends a lot off course if P, Mills can still be great for the.

Will Wemby be unstoppable for France already?

Looking forward to see how Porzingos and Co. will come back to the big stage.

Looking forward to see if Banchero will join Italy and whenever Germany will continue to work their ways becoming super power in FIBA.

How much Markannen will mess with Finland? Having a monster season for Jazz.

Will Rubio be there for Spain again and kick out "de facto" MVP Brown from alien NT?

Will Lithuania turn the corner looking for modern, defensive identity? Will it be the start of post- JV era or we will be watching ancient basketball again which leads no-where?

    Qualified:

    Finland
    France
    Germany
    Greece
    Italy
    Latvia
    Lithuania
    Slovenia
    Spain
    Australia
    Japan
    Lebanon
    New Zealand
    Philippines
    Cote d'Ivoire
    Canada

PS: Sorry for sloppy name of the thread, slipped somehow...

Those i Bold areas i put will surely parade atleast a NBA player in their roster, maybe we will see most number of NBA participants in the upcoming WC than 2019... If USA qualifies (100% sure), Canada and Australia for sure will put their all NBA players in their respective rosters, while teams like Philippines (Clarkson), Japan (Hachimura & Watanabe) will parade atleast one NBA player in their roster... While China parade legendary European coach Aleksandar Đorđević plus rumors that they will tap a NP player ala Lorenzo Brown type to boost their chances... Then we will see some new faces in the WC, the likes of Latvia and South Sudan will make their FIBA WC debut next year.. Don't sleep on South Sudan.. I have a feeling they will make noise in the tournament under the leadership of Loul Deng (president of South Sudan basketball federation)..

So it means the Draw Pots will be like this:

POT A: Spain, USA (If qualifies/Not yet qualified), Philippines and Japan

POT B: Australia, Argentina (If qualifies/Not yet qualified), France and Serbia

Then the rest will be according to FIBA rankings, But since Slovenia and Canada will play in Okinawa and Jakarta respectively, They will be drawn differently... Slovenia will be drawn only either Groups E or F (Okinawa) while Canada will be drawn either Groups G or H (Jakarta).. Like US and Philippines, Japan and Slovenia will be not drawn each other in one group... So the possible strongest POT C and D for Philippines and Japan are Lithuania, Greece, Italy, Germany, Brazil (If qualifies) and Venezuela (If qualifies).. Just only 6 because Canada will play in Jakarta, so means PHI and JPN will not grouped with them while Slovenia will be separated with Japan... Then the rest will be determine after the 6th window who will qualify.... The weakest among POT C and D is only Venezuela... Who among Japan or Philippines will be group with Venezuela, There is a chance that they will have a easy group... But remember, Venezuela stops China's plan last 2019... Beware of them as always...

China was also just straight up one of the worst teams there in the first place.

France might be the favorites next year... With intact line up from 2019 WC and 2021 Olympics plus the addition of Wembanyama and possibly Embiid, they will be the favorites.. Then nothing so sure what USA team looks like that time, I don't know if they are interested to represent team USA...

Yeah, but they could have advance into 2nd round if they didn't choke that game vs Poland... After that, China was in downfall...

Undetermined. Not much out there on who is even bidding.

I have heard of Israel in the mix and of potential co-hosting bids in the past from Argentina/Uruguay and Germany/FRance/Italy.
Even heard that Rwanda is actually bidding with Senegal.

Front runner migth be USA/Canada co-bid even though they have not officially bid yet.

Is Qatar interested too to host? They have money and venues already... Just little change from football field to basketball floor then that's it.... No way Israel will win the hosting since Arabs countries might not participate... African countries hosting? Are They have a basketball venue like the Philippines? How about Lithuania? They are basketball hotbeds but no interested to bid?

Now with FIFA WC finished and the final match became most hype match in the century, Let's now focus on upcoming FIBA WC next year's summer of 2023... I want the FIBA WC become the 2nd most watched World cup in entire world, As 2nd most popular sport (sorry cricket) in the world today, It should be the FIBA WC the 2nd most watch WC on earth.. But in the past, FIBA WC is only 5th among most watched WC event, even lose to Cricket and Rugby WC in terms of viewers... Last 2019 FIBA WC, they gathered 1.5 billion views, according to FIBA and became the most watched FIBA WC in history books, It's possible that this version of WC next year might break that record, because of growing popularity of this sport... It should be also FIBA WC is the most watched basketball event, even the NBA... If i were FIBA and the 3 host nations, This is the way to gather more viewers and putting themselves as prominent 2nd most popular sport on earth:

1.) In every event, There is/are the superstars of the sport to gather some interest of the viewers... This is what previous FIBA WC lacks, Because the strongest basketball team on earth Team USA didn't treat this tournament seriously (unfortunately), And the best basketball players are in the US then because they are not interested to play in FIBA WC tournament, the event are less prestige... But because the game is now more global and the best players on earth are now international (Not in US), This is the best chance for FIBA to market the tournament itself.. The possibility of having the likes of Giannis, Luka and Jokic will gather the interest of the fans and follow the event..

                            2) Make those three, Giannis, Luka and Jokic as the face of the tournament all tournament long (Possibily 4 w/ Wembayanma).. They should involve NBA to market the WC to the fans... Those three are top 10 most popular players in the NBA today, And if USA decides to have atleast some upcoming stars like Tatum, Young, Brown, etc... (even w/o the likes of Curry, KD and LBJ), That's good enough to market the tournament... Having some basketball superstars in every event will make the event more interesting to watch and gather more views..

3.) Make more use of social media... Another way to gather views to social media, Use it as a tool too...

4.) Make rivalries, One of the reasons more fans follow the event, Is because of rivalries... I don't know what are those international rivalries in FIBA (I think Spain vs France is the closest), But creating rivalries is fun to watch... Or atleast player rivalries atleast...

5.) Make updates in every event before the tournament starts, So that fans will not forget that the event will be held in this place, date and time.. In Social media, In every basketball games, etc...

As a basketball fan (more on a basketball fan than a football fan itself), I want the FIBA WC will be successful and more eventful next year... I want them to break records, from attendance, views, basketball records, etc... If the FIBA WC will be successful and get big time views, attendance, etc... next year, It will cement the sport of basketball will become the 2nd most popular on earth... No one can beat football as of now (and maybe forever) as far as popularity as concerned, But beating cricket, hockey and Rugby popularity and take the driver's seat as 2nd most popular sport, That should be the main goal of FIBA right now... They have now the global reach already compared to other sports that i mentioned (except football).. NBA did already their part to popularize the sport, It's time now to FIBA to do their part now... I'm excited for the next year's FIBA WC...

Cricket has more viewers than basketball essentially because of India and Pakistan. For the rest, like South Africa and England, the numbers are largely irrelevant compared to basketball who has followers in China, Philippines, Africa, Americas, South and East -Europe. Basketball is a much more global sport. It is second to fourth sport in many countries, while cricket is non-existent in any place of the world other than 7-8 countries.
