There is an interesting comment from another greek looser former center Tsartsaris: "Spain must be the best team in the world the last 15 years. Two amazing generations of players which play fast and beautiful basketball."

As far as I remember, in 2009 there were several "critical" no-calls against Spain.
They could've been eliminated due to the Slovenia game in the first phase. The game went to the OT with a basket by (I guess) Lorbek, which featured clear traveling.
In the game we defeated them, there was a clear foul on Llull by Erden in the final play.
There aren't many games in the last 20 years which saw Spain play a close one. Statistically, it could still be a coincidence to see more calls that might have favored Spain.
There's however a game which I'd call dirty, the Croatia-Spain game in 2005 which, in my opinion, should be attributed to the Serbs rather than the Spanish.

About this flopping talk;
You definitely need to stay calm to flop. It's not like it's a choice. You should be able to think and be constantly vigilant to achieve that. Which requires you to have practiced not only your acting skills but your game.
Besides, we shouldn't forget that Spanoulis built a career on flopping. (Which shouldn't be a problem to anyone.)BARÇA O MUERTE

From that day to date, Turkey has become a headache for Spain with a lot of matches lost by our team.

"And then comes Panathinaikos and their young center, Pekovic. He hit me once and it was like getting hit by a train.
He's a big boy. I said to him, "How much you weigh?" and he said, "Too much".
And he was right."

Wow, the jealousy towards Spain is strong I see.
After a long time where they where admittedly losers, Spain produced an amazing generation of players that made it to the top3 in almost every competition for the past (almost) 20 years. This is an incredible achievement! You don’t get to that point by flopping or getting help from the refs.
As a Greek, I remember the game in 2007. That really hurts because I do believe that the refs were terrible but I also need to remember the game in 2006 where we lost by 20, in the biggest game of our time, against a team without their leader and best player.
Also, the comment about “naturalizing” players is not correct. Children of immigrants that grow up in Spain, have as much right to be in the Spanish national team as any Spaniard. I put the word “naturalizing” in quotes because I don’t believe it is the case with these kids. We also had a great kid born to immigrant parents and we only started to show some respect when the NBA called.
By the way, actually Mr. Chacho calls out the flopping of Real Madrid players. Just saying.3rd, Euroleague IBN prediction game 2019

The EC was in Turkey and we would have been eliminated had we not won that game.

Refs called two non-existent fouls to close regulation. Australia probably got the short end of the stick in that sequence, but truth is that Mills still had two shots to win it. 85% shooter had to go 2/2. Very tough loss for Australia.Bronze Medal - IBN 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup Prediction Game

Euroleague's headquarters are in Spain. And Andrew, FIBA and Euroleague are not the same (in fact, both have a very bad relationship).

The fact that he should have received a technical foul for his gesture also escapes him. I'm pretty sure he'll be fined for this.
