Argentina, United States, Brazil, Dominican Republic all into the next round.

Puerto Rico and Venezuela in good position to qualify.

Only Canada's out.

Fiba did a nice job not have Latvia, Croatia, Slovenia. Only Greece choking is real surprise, Germany shouldn't even be here, as well as Poland and Check Rep.

Similar to 2010 against Brazil I think the USA had to win this game. When you’re young and inexperienced like that team was and this team is you don’t recover from a loss like that. Turkey definitely bailed them out. Now they are still alive in this tournament but I think could have been in essence eliminated today. Tatum injury is very important to watch. They can’t win this tournament without him. This ending reminded a little bit of Siskauskas and the Lithuania game in 2000.
Serbia is the clear favorite now and it’s their championship to lose. I don’t know how Turkey recovers to face the Czech Republic. If they do it will really impress me.

Even if you hate the qualifying system Germany went 9-3, in pretty dominant fashion they deserved to be there it's not like they qualified by the skin of their teeth. Croatia lost games when NBA players actually showed up for them they have no excuse.

Give credit where it's due.32 teams might be too many but the system otherwise is perfect.No countless group stage matches.No chance to find rhytm into the tournament or groups of 6 where 4 teams qualify.Every game is pretty much a knock out.Just like it should be

Agreed, Greece now has to beat New Zealand, the US and possibly Turkey to make it to the knockout stage just because of 1 loss. Every game matters and that's a vast improvement over the 2014 group where you could joke about tanking games.

we are not in China because we didn't deserve it.

but Skelin and Anzulović were put in a position to lead the NT by Rađa and Vranković.
other Rađa and Vranković decisions also played it's part in a disaster.
I was on their side hoping they can learn from mistakes.
but they are simply not capable of doing that, not smart enough to even learn from it's own mistakes and let alone mistakes by others.
our misery will surely continue with those two running the show.
I'm not wishing it, surely not as my plan three years ago was to be in China this time of the year 2019., but I won't be surprised if we miss the EC as well.

P.S. Australia is one more team that started lately but they play together for a long time with the same coach.

It's obvious that USA basketball tries to appease to angry NBA owners by limiting the period of time players are available as much as possible.I read in an article by John Schumman that by the time the tournament started USA had a total of..14 practises!They got no leverage and that's the way it is.NBA owners could decide one day no more international tournaments and noone could do a thing about it.

nope, philippines started their full training august 19 - just 12 days away from world cup and we were blown out of proportions right now.

the longer you prepare, the more cohesive you are as a team.

this link says the results of all three first round games carry over into the second round. but how can this be when some teams don't make it to the second round? wouldn't it make more sense to carry over only the result against the other team that qualified to the second round? (e.g. SRB-ITA result is the only one that carries over from Group D?

Im with you on this! Americas team, with the except of USA, have been mistreated. Europeans thinks that USA is number one, and position from 2 to 12 are only for european teams...
