You must know why we could see Orhan Seha Ozbey(2011) as big prospect at U16. This is a kid, too young therefore it could be too much but the chances that he could be a really interesting prospect at U16 in 1-2 years are there because there are too much positive signs. His talent as scorer and the ability beating his opponent in 1vs1 looks not fake but very naturally, he is not mature, not physicalwise and even not gamewise and he has no fear of contact though he is so small. And it looks like that he will be an above average athlete and has even long arms. But to take this all potential to the U16 level he must add several cm.

      • Samet Yigitoglu again filled the stats sheet. Again with 3 blocks in his game with one amazing chase down block. Can really play on both ends of the court. Not sure about the NBA but definitely future Euroleague player.

        • Insane physical development of Berke Buyuktuncel.

Very good power forward rotation with Osmani and Buyuktuncel. I will try to look at his ability to switch but with Buyuktuncel and Bona we really could have a great defensive lineup. Considering Senguns defensive development the sky is the roof.

          • Alperen is truly playing ELITE defense against nba competition... huge huge development for us at international level... his offense looks off due to him cutting weight but I dont think that will ever be an issue for him at international level

Increasing strength often influences the touch negatively but thats not a big problem. I am sure after Christmas he will be his old version. The defense is really great and not expected.

              • Kartal Bora Simsek is really a great PG prospect. Nearly as talented as Omer Kutluay. He has to work on his shot but the rest is really legit.

Darius Karutasu looks for me like an NBA prospect. Demir Ozturk is very talented too. Didnt see much of Omer Shik of FB

                The 2009 generation is thriving

                • It has been totally a lost season for our best 05 prospects both Demirel and Tunca. There is no point to rent players who you will not play.

Demirel is a garbage time player in Karsiyaka. It would be better if he stayed in Efes as a garbage time player and full time work with Anka.

Tunca also started in rotation in Telekom. But then, Can only added another foreign guards after and after. His minutes are totally gone in Eurocup. Can is feeling the pressure of getting fired. He lost the control of team.

Anka can be more competitive with the rotation of Tunca, Demirel, Demirtas and Onat against an okey competition. Now, Anka is not competitive and it is not good for Onat and Demirtas. And other both players are not get enough minutes.

                  • The Turkish U16 NT (2009 born) is assembling because of a tournament taking place in Romania between December 19-23 2024. The participants are not clear rn but Turkey and Romania will participate for sure.

It really is not fun to write here anymore.

                    • What a wasted season for Konan. He has enough minutes and opportunity but he totally forgets to shoot. He never takes any responsibility. Even last season he was better.

Before this season, with improvement than last season, I expected from him a solid season. Even I thought he has a chance to get drafted. But he does nothing on the court. Just defence and rebound. Many young players do not have this chance and he wasted it.

After your post i have watched the Mega game, Kartal Bora Simsek surprised me here but its an insult to this sport to mention him in the same sentence with Omer Kutluay.
Bahcesehir used him as scorer since last season but in Mega game we could see if he has the ball in his hands, he can show solid things. Not very young, next month 16 but very childish face but sadly he almost hasnt grown in the last 2 years, this is always a bad sign but still very childish, maybe he could surprise and add 2 inches.

With 6 you can see Orhan Seha Ozbey(2011) and 9 Deniz Efe Unlu(2012)

U14 NT had a tournament and Seha Ozbey impressed me the most. Ates Tuze was topscorer but now im a bigger fan of Seha Ozbey. The big Engin Deniz Kasikara(Bahcesehir) impressed me too.

                        • Do we think the '09 generation has a chance for gold? The starting 5 has a lot of potential and I think that if emir karabulut or omer elitas turns out to be a solid center we could play for gold.
                          starting 5:
                          Kartal-kutluay-darius-demir ozturk-karabulut/elitas

The U16 EC will take place in Turkey. We will surely play for gold. Your starting five is great btw.

                            • I watched the prep game of our U16 team against a very strong Slovenian team 96:92 in OT.

Omer Kutluay is the real deal. 31 points with 50% fgp, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and 4 steals. Almost every decision of him was great. His defense was solid. Let me say it this way except 3 point creation everything is high value. We finally have found a play maker but its still unclear when he is going to be ready but he has developed very well since summer. He looks taller and stronger.

Darius Karutasu is another with serious NBA upside. His ability to bring and secure the ball with this length is amazing. He looks like a very reliable spot up shooter and has court vision plus passing abilities. Liked his decision making on top. He finished the game with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. He also has a very solid defensive upside.

Those two players are undoubtedly the best players of this team.

Demir Ozturk looks a solid piece for Europe too. He is a very smart boy with solid court vision and passing skills. Very smart on the defensive end always a hand in the passing lanes but he has no outstanding skill. We will have to wait how he develops.

About the game: we started horribly (as always) and didnt take the game very seriously and the Slovenian team defended very smart and it had a very solid team defense and the Slovenians played very hard defense. We gave away too many defensive rebounds, we were not aggressive enough and our bigs are obviously trash again.

We played a very solid third period and closed the game with smart defense and fast break points triggered of Kutluay but without Kutluay we cant make any smart decisions neither in half court nor in trasition. The team is not prepared but despite having a good quarter Slovenia made many tough shots. Very solid shooting team again.

In the last quarter a very exhausted Kutluay and Karutasu took over. I am very happy with this team despite lacking a solid big again.
