  • Sorry, Toruko, I don't see it. Heavy hands and legs, rigid handles, very unattractive shooting form. Seems like sturdy guy with good size, but no smoothness, seems like a construction worker. You said somewhere he might be a first rounder, I barely see him being drafted overall. Not to take anything, good tournament, but I don't see an upside. IMO, will be strong mediocre player at best at PROs.

You put your guys to eagerly to the first round. I was telling you the same with Berke.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

    Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
    Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
    Buzelis, Lelevicius
    Murauskas, Sirvydis
    Tubelis, Krivas

You didn't get it. I just said that he is playing like a first rounder and so it is. Hell play in the U18 tournament too. He indeed has had some shooting problems from the arc so far but in this tournament he really exploded. Well see about the next tournament. He has indeed some verticality issues but he can create and handles the ball well for his age. I dont care about the NBA.

From what I see, he won't be drafted. Putting numbers is nice, but...

Its not just about the numbers, its about the efficiency and the versatility in scoring.

          • Like I wrote, Derin Can Ustun, Kaan Onat and Rrezon Elezay will participate in the U18 EC tournament 2024 too. Considering the drought in the U18 team both will again be the main creators in the tournament. I am a big fan of our 2006 born big Salih Altuntas. It will be the first time that we will see Derin with a seriously talented big like Salih.

Derin started with many ups and downs but beat New Zealand all by himself and brought bronze to his country.

Normally a solid defensive team with some scoring issues but Salih and Melih Tunca could help on the offensive end. A very decisive tournament for Melih Tunca who is very important for our future NT. Reminds me a bit of Oded Kattash but TO ratio is crucial for him to take the next step. He will play Eurocup with TT Ankara and with a solid season I am sure Eurobasket 2025 is a possibility.

Omer Kutluay is a scorer, he is a SG, not PG. His father and Omer have zero interest that Omer becomes PG. He is PG for Real because he is the most talented perimeter in his generation there and because of his still small body. Egor Demin was also the PG for Real but he will not play PG at senior, many teams let the most talented perimeter play PG at U-level.

This photo had much more comments on instagram and many of them are about Omer but turks again are not able figure out what is important on this photo. Its of course the height of Omer. He is still under 190, it will not change after the "official" height for the U16 european championship on fiba website with "190" "192".......

The only way he will keep playing PG is if he stays that small. A scorer Omer with elite size is much better for turkish bb. Even with 1 year younger in the U16 NT he will play more like a scorer. Its not important how good passer he is, good is passer is not = PG.

I dont care where he plays as long as he creates for others.

                  • Now, I am really sure about Emre Melih Tunca. I had some question marks about his ball control but he made really huge progress. I love his decision making and his ability to finish at the rim. His shot from the arc is also great even though he cant create for himself rn. A true tall point guard who has a great touch and also the verticality.

                    • Excellent showing since 3 days from excellent talent Melih Tunca. How easy he finds his teammates, always the best decisions for his team. If this player can take his potential to senior level, then all perimeter game will run through him in the NT. Exactly this player is missing in turkish bb. Really all game will run through him and Alperen, all game........

I have read Kenan Sipahi comments on twitter, hahhhahahahhahah......maybe i will write in few days hahahhahahahahaha

                      • Emre Melih Tunca is first in scoring being one year younger (17,7 points) and third in assists (5,7 assists) after the group stage

                        • I really hope tunca has a similar season with Telekom as sengun had with besiktas... ofc not likely to happen but I really want to see him in the eurobasket squad

                          • Yildizoglu disaster!

This is what happens when you give the keys to him. It is not a coincidence that our best game against spain without him.

Another one is Konan. He played against grown men in Eurocup and he did it. He had a decent role. But, in this tournament, he even can not defend ordinary guys. Even I except him to increase his role in offence, he has negative impact in other side.

Also, our guards are beaten even without screens. Considering they have better big guys, it is not acceptable and there is no chance to win. Zero contribution from Efeoglu and Akın.

A clear case of saturation. We just need Tunca and Buyuktuncel from this team. Altuntas has slow legs but is a very skilled big. Cengiz will be a good BSL player but nothing more.

                              • OK guys,

after having watched the U16 Baltic Cup, the U17 WC and the U20 tournament my list for the guard prospects with the highest ceiling is clear.

                                1. Omer Kutluay (a flawless prospect. Love his defense)
                                2. Derin Can Ustun - maybe not suited for the NBA but for me he still has tremendous talent. He needs to add strength and has to work on his lateral quickness. Will make my final decision after the U18 tournament.
                                3. Emre Melih Tunca - made huge progress in his ball control. A true PG who can read the game very well. Just needs to work on his left hand. The only thing he lacks is shot creation from the arc.
                                4. Kaan Onat - unbelievably matured for his age. Needs to work on his shot from the arc.

I expect Tunca to play BSL next season (maybe 15-20 minutes). A good season and there is no obstacle for him to participate in the Eurobasket 2025
