With this move he will have chances to be part of the roster for eurobasket 2025. Because of his big potential he can have some games with almost 20/10 next season and of course also many bad games. But the most important thing will be how he will solve his biggest problem, playing against pressure. If he cannot solve this problem then he has no chance to become that player he could. Turkish NT is still limited. The biggest problem is that only Alperen knows how to play a bb game and make plays for others. Turkish bb must produce a perimeter player who knows how to ball and Melih Tunca has this potential, and now for the first step a good chance at Turk Telekom, step by step development, 1 thing you cant see in turkish bb.
The best potentials from the 08 Generation in the U16 Championship were Omer Ege Ziyaettin, Arda Ene, Berk Catalay(F/C, Efes), Kerem Corumlular(G/F, Tofas), (+ maybe Yigit Pinar, G, Ege Asist but i havent seen him closely). With the addition of Anil Alyanak, Omer Kutluay & Yigit Acar those players should be the main players for the U16 european Championship. Berk Catalay is an interesting big, he needs special treatment.

Adem Bona gets drafted by Phila.
Phila's roster is empty right now. They have few contracted players. It is really hard to evaluate whether it is a good spot or not.
But I like two things in Phila.
1. Embiid is an injury prone and it means that Adem can take playing time even he would be a third option.
2. Phila is a center oriented team. It is more or less similar our National team. Maybe he can get some minutes along side Embiid.
Now, we have 6 NBA caliber players + Biberovic, Osmani, Sipahi. That might be our main rotation. Plus, we have the best coach right now. We still have trouble in guard rotation but I think we are ready to compete against best national teams.
But, Ataman must decide one thing and this is Sengun era right now. Possibly, he will be all star next year. We use him as a center. Not with Yurtseven or Sanli. We should see how it will work with Bona.

A reformation of the youth system is not a very difficult thing as people think in Turkiye. The problem is the country or better its erdogan and hidayet.
We have for example very good 3 examples from past years. Germany had bad youth system, no prospects etc. but their bb president changed the whole system and now they have better prospects as we. Almost all french prospects were bums, especially when it comes to fundamentals and IQ. Look at todays french prospects, just wow how you can change so much things in a an unbelievable short time, just crazy. Serbia was of course always good but they accepted bb has changed. Topic, Djurisic, how fast, how straight they play and brutal get to the rim, look at other serbian prospects, they accepted and adapted so fast, really strange development.
Its so easy but you have to want it.

Bona will not play 30 minutes, or will be starter in 1-2 years for NT etc. he is not smart enough, foultrouble, no rebounds, very small(wingspan is not everthing).

Anil Alyanak is a very PF prospect. He has many skills that a modern PF should have but in order to evaluate him properly I need to watch him in the U16 tournament. But he is indeed very talented. It will be a pleasure to watch the U16 team with Omer Kutluay

OK, we cant deny anymore that Kaan Onat has exploded in the FIBA U17 WC and looks like a first round draft pick. Relentless motor and he goes to the rim with ease! Not to mention his ability to his the three pointer. He has knocked down 45% of his three with high volume! He is first in scores and second in assists which is insane.

Derin Can Ustun is really unfortunate in this FIBA U17 WC . He is doing everything to win. I like him a lot on the defensive end but his shots dont want to fall. He creates enough space to release his shot, the trajectory looks very good but the shots are too long. Its fixable though. He has some issues with ball control but everything else looks very promising. Not a NBA type player. His game suits more to Europe.

Well done boys. Last year u16 was a real disappointment but we have a solid team this year. Both Onat and Ustun play better than last year.
I wonder what gonna happen in Cedevita this. Will they give some A team minutes to Ustun? I want to watch him in Eurocup. Though he needs to be more consistent and make less turnover. But talent is there.
Now, u20 team must take a medal. For me, this is a huge tournament for Tunca. He needs to show up. After good tournament and overall season with Telekom, he may end up in EuroBasket roster. Also, it is important for both Konan and Buyuktuncel. I think both have chance to get drafted next year.

OK its about time for a resume. First of all, congrats to our guys who started terribly and lets be honest that the 2007 generation was one of the weakest in the last 10 years but we have two promising guard prospects and this is the most important part.
Lets start with Derin Can Ustun, undoubtedly, the most skilled player in this generation. He has many weapons that he can take to the pro level. Great mid range shot creator, comes to the rim very easily even though he cant finish with high percentage rn. His pull up shots look great. He can also create good looks with his step back jump shots. If he can use it in the pro level, hell get drafted!
I am also very intrigued how he creates for other. His drive and kick out passes create good looks for others. He is also a very good pick and roll initiator and passer. Its really unfortunate that the team was so out of talent. In a mediocre Turkish youth team he would have at least 5 assists at least.
He has to have less TO numbers and finish with higher percentages. I would love to see him in the U18 tournament since the roster is very weak.
Lets come to Kaan Onat... really a surprising performance. He showed clearly that he can get to the rim from every point and can finish through contact with high percentage and I really didnt know that he is such a good creator for others. He is a real PG! Despite his great shooting performance I dont buy he will continue shooting so efficiently on a consistent base. If he does NBA is an option. He has the size.
Both of our guys contested every shot very well and were able to stay in front of their opponents.
Kocagozoglu and Coskun are the other guys we can expect to see at the pro level.
