Adem Bona is on the rise in the ESPN top 100 draft candidates and climbed 18 positions to the 22th position. He must have shown unexpected qualities against NBA players in these scrimmage games.

Last week i followed 3 Bgl-games(youth league), Dacka-Efes, Tofas-Bahcesehir, Gelisim-GS. 3 solid games. It was good to see some surprising, a bit unknown names. Solid performance of the interesting SF Ali Hamza Altin(Bahcesehir, 05), he will be much better with time. Very interesting showing of SF/SG Batu Bircan(Tofas, 06) could be a special shooter, must play better with ball and create for himself then he could be really a great prospect. Both prospects are very very young, very little bb background and with good development really very interesting prospects.
Altan Camoglu(SG, Galatasaray, 05) showed solid potential too, we should follow him too. The PG of Gelisim Koleji, Dogan Bozveli(05) had a crazy game. He was like the super talented spanish G Mario Saint-Supery(06), a second division version of him. I never noticed him but man what a hell of driving ability, brutality of Ridvan Oencel but not blind like Ridvan, he has vision. 185 but he doesnt need more inches because of his physique and mentality. I hope his performance is not due to his maturity. Must watch more games of him. I hope Emir Arda Sivas(05) will play tomorrow against him.

I watched 1-2 months ago a U16 preparation game between Efes and Bahcesehir on Instagram. No surprise, both, Derin Can Ustun(PG/SG, 07) & Kaan Onat(SG/PG, 07) impressed me very much. After international competition things will be more clear. I dont expect great numbers from both in U16 EC because turkish coaches will not give them freedom but both should lead turkish U16 NT to success. Both were already ready last season but their teams didnt give them too big roles. Kaan got sometimes 4 minutes etc, Derin Can sometimes 12 minutes etc. Both are just too big talents for turkish standards. International competition could slow down Kaan Onat because of his slow feets and he could be a bit soft. Kaan Onat is a born talent, he is a real natural talent. Style wise David Mutaf is a good comperison but Kaan is the version wich is a real talent and not a wannabe. Kid is born to play bb, he has the smoothness of Okben Ulubay, Cenk Akyol etc. Very talented and intelligent. Slow feets but not bad defender because of his IQ. 3-4 days ago he killed Fener. He is a combo but more SG as PG, this is very important, i watched 3 games of him this season and he played part time PG. He has so natural, unpredictable moves that he beats his defenders in 1v1 with his slow feets. He has special shooting talent too. He is clearly more talented as other combos like Eray Buyukcangaz(04) or Yagiz Aksu(06). Kaan Onat is one of the biggest turkish perimeter talents in many years. He has grown since last year and will add some inches in the next years because he is still a kid, body structure, very young face, zero beard etc. The PG of Fener, Omer Ege Ziyaettin is 1 year younger as Kaan and the copy of him, unfortunately a bit softer version of Kaan. No need to write about Derin Can Ustun, he is anyway the biggest prospect. You never know, Turkey produced the best talent in Europe in the positions SG/SF with Cedi Osman(95), Okben Ulubay(96), Furkan Korkmaz(97), Onuralp Bitim(99) but because of structural problems in turkish bb we never got the maximum of those group. In the last few years we haven't seen not enough solid perimeter prospects but you never know, in 5 years we could say different things etc.....Last edited by TurkfromGermany; 10-22-2022, 07:04 PM.

Samet Yigitoglu with 13 points and 7 rebounds in the ABA league against SC Derby and considering guys like Krivas playing in the second Lithuanian league its a big chance for him as a 2004 born player. Good training for him to get prepared for BSL

I see Yigitoglu improved some aspects of his physical condition and game understanding so this totally changed his presence in rebounding positions in a positive manner.
He worked on his core and leg strength that made him quite strong under the rim and he threw off that youth level prospect title and can be seen as a senior level player already. Good to see the structure of body has been improved. He is much more aggressive and tougher than even 3 months ago. He promises physical dominance apart from technical dominance. I watched almost all games of him and he won almost all the battles for rebounds against pretty good players. That's vital to think one step ahead and get into rebound position instantly when a shot goes off and Yigitoglu is pretty good at this. Rebound feeling and position awareness are in the pocket.
In six games, he averaged 14,3 RPG PER40MIN, and this stats is somewhere between good and elite rebound stats.
His Macedonia journey has been a question mark for me, but looks like he has found what he expected so far. Though, I want him to improve lateral quickness to stand against faster guys on face-to-face defensive positions. 1,9 BPG is impressive, but overall defense of him is still a bit messy. He is beaten up quite easily against faster guys. Bad sign.Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. Perception, intelligence and morality assist it as well. If he had developed his defense too he would be a clear draft prospect.
No matter what, he is still a active learner. He can get better at any aspects of the game, but NBA is not a realistic forecast for him already, I see him more like a Euroleague stager who can contribute at NT level aswell of course.Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. That's a player type that we haven't had since Asik and Erden era.

Adem Bona with his first game for UCLA and as expected he finished the game with 5 blocks. He will be an elite rim protector which is the most important ability for a big by far. A guy who can defend all five positions without any doubt at least for Europe. The narrow court in Europe will make his effect even more visible because he is one of the best help defenders that I ever watched but I am also sure that hell develop offensive weapons too in time. He runs like a Gazelle and he is really not a bad rebounder and passer too.

After having consecutive heavy injuries, Akay will come into action in the second half of the season. Few Turkish clubs are ready to give him a small room in rotation as his agency Wasserman had few talks with some clubs already.
It will be really interesting to see how he will handle his comeback as he has been quite far from basketball for a long time. Spending the half of season for warming up and aiming to be ready in 23-24 season is the most realistic scenario for him.Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability.
