  • First double double of Sengün in 20 minutes. He also had 4 assists 2 steals and 1 Block. He is a way better defender than I and everyone expected but needs gain strength nevertheless. He struggled again any big so far if its McGee, Jokic etc. He is more fluent though.

    • Tibet Gorener played 30 minutes for the Spartans and scored 14 points with high percentage. Good to see him playing.

      • This is what I expect Tibet Gorener to become as a finished product...

He can create shots off the dribble, off screens is a very solid catch and shoot guy and developed from a non defender to a very solid one. Has the right intensity but I dont want him to land in the NBA. We need guys in the Euroleague.

        • What an awesome bunch of PF prospects do we have right now.

Tibet Gorener 2002 6'9 sharpshooter with defensive upside
Berke Buyuktuncel 2004 6'8 right now great spot up shooter and can easily defend 4 positions in Europe
Demir Dogan 2006 6'9 point forward with great handles
Sadik Emir Kabaca 2001 6'10 goofy but versatile guy

          • Sengun with 8 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals in 20 minutes. It is really annoying how easy you can score in the NBA. 3 of his assists were just hand offs, I dont consider these assists but he can definitely share the ball. Once his body is ready he will be awesome. He could really become the best player that Turkey ever produced.

            • National teammate Adem Bona visited Sengün in Houston.

              • Maybe wrong thread but it's linked with the prospect.

I think we are the worst shooting nation in Europe. From nation with one of the best shooters like Harun or Ibrahim, we came to Melih, Tuncer, Hazer etc.. Our NT from competition to competition have the worst shooting percentage, Other qualities are present but when you can't make shoots you lose, simple as that.

Roots of that problem is in wrong approach to youth, from pioneer to cadet age. Coaches who works with them make awful job. I don't know why is that but 90% of our players have wrong mechanics and strange shooting technics. It's enough to look Hazer stroke for instance, player with such presented talent will end as medicre just because he can't shoot.

                • Sengun really gives these bunch of chickens some structure. Including one sick block and one sick pass he played with 5 points, 6 rebounds 4 assists and 2 blocks in 12 minutes. Idk whats going on with Silas. OK, he made some easy turnover too but everyone does.

Surely he must get stronger and faster.

                  • Ömer Yurtseven had a very convincing performance with the heat. He started very very excited and started performing in his second entry in the game. He contributed 12 Points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in 20 minutes and helped his team winning over Indiana. His minutes should increase after this game slowly but steadily.

He is not as talented as Sengün but a very hard worker who could find a role although his style is not suited to the nba.

                    • I dont like to hype players but Sengün translated excellently to the NBA. He is not the fastest and the strongest guy right now but he can position his feet very fast. He cant jump very high but he is the first one who jumps. He has not the fastest first step but in the time his opponents make 1 step he makes 2. He creates enough space to create for himself and is a passing threat all over the court.

In two years if he develops steadily like this, he will be a triple double machine. He just struggles more in rebounding than I thought he would do but he is much better defensively than I thought either. Similar to Jokic he has very fast and active hands and can deflect balls even defending the perimeter.

His shots from behind are slow but very smooth. Rockets winning streak is now 5 games and Sengün played a very important role from the bench. He contributed 13 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 TO and 1 Block in 18 minutes which is insane.

                      • Tibet Görener has averaged 11 points with 53% from three so far. I love his shooting stroke but he hasnt developed as well as Sengün. He was my first prospect from the 2002 generation ahead of Sengün. Even if NBA is nearly impossible for him he would be a great fit for European teams. Still needs to bulk up though.

                        • Samet Yigitoglu (2004) and Demir Dogan (2006) made their first game for MZT II in Macedonia. The Turkish progidy Dogan finished with 8 points and 3 rebounds. His development will measure the ceiling of the Turkish Basketball.

I like Dogan, but I wouldn't call him prodigy (at least nit yet surely). Elite prospect, that would be more proper, IMO. The way I see it he should grow to 6'9, 7'0. My concern is that he won't be all that smooth and skilled to be on ball creator as forward (and I do see him primarily as 4 in the future). In other words, from what I see I don't see him being a forward with the ball- a la Lebron, Durant, Doncic, ect. And a player without the ball can't be franchise player. His shooting is really raw and with getting weight on he may lose a portion of skill and smoothness as usually happen with bigs. He seem to feel most comfortable in transition and really raw in half court. I would project him more as rhythm forward who might be forced to become more of a power player if he will want to have a strong NBA career. In other words, I'm afraid that he wouldn't turn out to be Bruno Caboclo, or to use less brutish example, Dario Saric. A lot will depend on his development, how his skillset and body will ripe. But I don't see that elite skillset that would make him transcendent prospect, prodigy. He was compared with Pokusevski, but I think the latter is more skilled while Dogan will end up relying on athleticism mainly, IMO. That's my projection anyway. If I'm wrong about his skillset and he will continue to polish it, he might be special. We'll see.

Seems like Turkey will have nice frontcourt, but more guard prospects obviously wouldn't hurt.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

                            Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
                            Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
                            Buzelis, Lelevicius
                            Murauskas, Sirvydis
                            Tubelis, Krivas

                            • Which path do you guys think is better for the development of a young player- taking the NCAA route or staying in Europe with a professional team? I know this is a bit of a broad question and it can depend very much on the player in question, but it does seem like an interesting dilemma.

If the player gets safe minutes in a pro team the pro Europe line is always better but if its not sure playing is always better than not playing and with playing i dont mean staying and waiting for the ball to shoot. Spain does it really great, better than any other nation.
