  • Kartal Özmizrak (95) broke his career high today in the turkish super league with 29 points and with 5 of 10 three pointer and 4 assists against Gaziantep.

Banvit defeated BJK at home with 20 points. Very low intensity game of Sengün who was a bit unlucky today but it seems he will evolve to an power forward in the future. A midrange shot would help him a lot in the future.

Hazers outside shot is improving. He played very good defense today always focussed and intense. Had 10 points 2 assists and 3 steals.

    • Sarper David Mutaf played with 22 points (60% from the field, 44% from the 3 pointer line) in four games. Solid size with 197cm, very fluid with the ball, solid passing skills, can finish with both hands at the rim and a deadly sharpshooter. The youth league is enough at the moment for a 17 year old guy but from 2021 Fenerbahce really need to find a club for this kid.

This kid has amazing talent, just crazy talent but he is not very interesting for me because he is PG(most difficult position), very small(170+) and too young. He is Gelisim Koleji player, best place for young players, next year U19 league and then 2nd division etc.

Berkay Dönmez(SF) is the most important prospect in the 05 generation for TBF at this stage. Therefore he was the main ballhandler in the beginning of the tournament. He could only show his potential in the last game.

Kaan Berk Tarla(SG) is good but mature.

Alp Sarikaya(SG) has very big upside if he grows.

Tolga Öz(PF) is just 195. Before 14 months he moved to Efes because Efes expected that he will reach 205-210. Very talented player but too small for PF.

Evren Demirci(PF/C) is solid but Mehmet Efe Demirel(PF/C) & Halil Ibrahim Aksoy(C/PF) are the bigs with upside in the 05 generation, both are very interesting players and in 1-2 years both could reach another level.

Tolga Öz & Mehmet Efe Demirel don´t get any playing time in Efes. That shows again, for Efes is player development not important.

We could also see the great talent of Demir Dogan & Emin Kara, but they are too young.
+ Ali Oralkan(PF/SF) is an interesting player.

Turkish coaches should follow Özgür Cengiz carefully. They should see how much opportunities you have if you are a good 1on1 player. I was a huge Ömer Yasir Kücük fan only because of his 1on1 talent, he had never good IQ or playmaking-skills, Ömer Yasir Kücük was a scoring killer at U14-U16 but last summer we have seen he lost his penetrations, maybe he can find it in the USA. Additionally Özgür Cengiz has huge IQ on offense and defense. Again for me he is not very interesting because he is too small(170), most difficult position(PG) and too young(15) but he has just amazing talent.

Eray Büyükcangaz should not play full time PG, he is not pure PG, he is more SG/PG/SF and he can show his talent as SG much more.

Berke Büyüktuncel has to show his offensive talent much more, he must be able to score on his own. His mentality is a bit like Okben´s, he has the potential to be a star but doesn´t want it etc.

The 2004 generation looking great but same was with the 2001 back then too. At U14-U15-U16 etc. Atakan Erdek-Ömercan Ilyasoglu-Mustafa Kurtuldum-Ömer Yasir Kücük and the bigs Ismail Karabilen, Tarik Sezgün was the group. Except Ömercan and Mustafa the rest is garbage at this stage.

In reality Okben has decent athleticism(enough for a high iq-player like him) but because of his character he plays with zero athleticism on offense. We saw the best Okben in 2013, he got banned from about Nov-2012 to March-April-2013 because of age falsing, then he showed some solid games in second division(first time in 2nd division) and led Pertev(Efes) to the U18 title with great domination, very active playing style etc. Because of the ban he wanted to show that his talent is real therefore we saw the most agressive, athletic Okben of all time. Then he played the U18 european championship, as expected he was the best player but he had some bad moments in SF and final game and Kenan Sipahi had some surprising moments therefore he became MVP.

After summer 2013 he expected to be in the A-team of Efes but Mahmuti sent him to Pertev, Okben showed some great games, he played active but after some months he showed not much interest in 2nd division.

Okben was with 20 the leader and best player of Yesilgiresun, even though Ricky Ledo and Anthony Gill were on the team. Therefore his performance for FMP is not a big deal. In reality he doesn´t want to play bb.

          • My boy Gorener starting to create for himself...

His development last season was not sufficient but in a lower level team he does everything on the court. His standing reach for a forward is amazing. Ball handling looks very solid. Step back is there, can get to the rim, does alley hoops thanks to his huge wingspan, swift first step and the most important thing... he defends aggressively.

            • Bandirma kirmizi won his game against Samsun thanks to Eray Akyüz who caught fire on the last quarter. The most remarkable point is he has a very solid 3 point percentage in the last games. I am not convinced yet but if he develops a consistent outside shot it will change everything.

40 Points with (6 of 12 from 3), 8 rebounds and 4 assists but he still has a long way to go. Need to see him in BSL. He has the leading gene like Ömer Yasir Kücük. Sometimes it is helpful and sometimes it costs you everything.

              • Surprising news. Bandirma is releasing most of his foreign players due to financial issues. (maybe all)

They say that it was necessary to protect the youth system. What great news for the young guys. The have been doing a great job so far and need to carry the team. This is also what the bandirma officials are saying right now.

So Eray Akyüz and Ercan Osmani will get a lift for sure.

The roster after that would be like.

                Ridvan Öncel, Eray Akyüz
                Sehmus Hazer, Sedat Ali Karagülle
Atakan Erdek (not ready), Erkan Yilmaz(not ready)
Alperen Sengün, Sadik Emir Kabaca (not ready)
                Ercan Osmani, Furkan Haltali

Those guys will struggle for sure but the most important thing is the responsibility they will get. Maybe theyll keep 2 foreigners but the turkish bb needed this move. Now i am just hoping they can competing with the other teams.

                • Some small changes impact big things. In the 2016-7 season Yesilgiresun had 4 foreigners and Okben was the best player of Yesilgiresun even though Ricky Ledo & Anthony Gill. With 1 or 2 more foreigners Okben´s impact, MPG etc. would decrease but Ledo & Gill would continue to be amoung leaders.

Olay sadece olup biteni akilda tutmak, yani Türk´ün en cok zorlandigi alan......

Teksüt Bandirma will have no chance but the only important thing is turkish players. Most important thing is to give Alperen Sengün the opportunity to play versatile on offense. Jumper and agility is the key.

                  • Promising game in Bursa.

The team started with Ridvan Öncel, Hazer, Yilmaz, Sengün and Haltali and played great team bb with solid defense in the first half. Not a single forcing. In offense they stuck in a couple games because neither Öncel nor Hazer is ready to create consistently. Too few p&r over Sengün (07/2002) who did a really good job finishing. He needs work for sure but he is already ready for BSL. Nice touch at the rim, finds almost a solution there. A mid range shot would help him a lot but it seems he is a rim big. He still has a lot of time to develop at least an outside shot. Solid performance with 15 points 5/9 and 5 rebounds.

Furkan Haltali (12/2002). Very strong, i mean very very strong guy, who can grab rebounds easily and box out. Played very solid defense too because bandirma closed the painted area and let Bursa shoot and Bursa struggled in the first half scoring. Anyway he must work on his finishing at the rim and his legs are too slow. His skill set will never be versatile but he can specialize on 2-3 moves. Grabbed 14 rebounds in this game.

Erkan Yilmaz (97) is useless in set offense and doesnt know the value of a possession. I cant even say he is productive in fast breaks because he doesnt know how to react if there is a guy after him. The worst player in this starting five for sure.

Hazer (99) forced the game in the second half too much but he had too. I cant blame him but it would help him a lot to run more p&r games with Sengün. No fuel in the last quarter, played almost the entire game and his good fgp in the first half dropped. A very solid all around skill set, plays hard bb, very good motor and focus but has finishing issues at the rim, must improve his court vision.

                    19 points (7/16) 7 rebounds, 3 assists 2 steals and 4 Turnover.

Turnover were a big issue in this game for Bandirma but I am super proud that they keep up with a very athletic and experienced team. The guys from Kirmizi would be a big help otherwise the bench is too thin to get a win. A real play maker and a shooter who can handle the ball would help the team for sure.

                    • Ŵhat a piece of trash those Turks of Efes are!!!! Gecim is the worst player that I saw in BSL and gives no effort to develop. He cant finish at the rim at all, no shot goes in, runs into man uselessly. He deserves an ass kick back to Adana disgusting piece of trash!

Ilyasoglu and Kurtuldum also total useless even against ITÜ. They still have the body of 11 year old guys. Nobody is working seriously. Two more busts added in the endless list of turkish busts. The GM was talking about draft candidates one year ago. You should really laugh at his face.

Just Saybir seem to be useful although he had loads to improve...

Kurtuldum could be good I like him. But like every other Turkish prospect he must work hard. It's the only way.
Now it's time, not for year or two or five.. They just should take Doncic example, Player with just 19y was by far the best player in Europe.

                        • Ok, Bandirma just finished his second game against Nymburg one of the favorites of the CL. The game ended 84:72 for Nymburg. The problem for bandirma was the short rotation. They played with 7 guys and 2 of them are not fully ready to play against half of the czech national team roster. They fought very well. Were just too overmotivated and couldnt finish at the rim. The outside shot was surprisingly good.

Alperen Sengün 17,5 years old and what can I say? This guy is amazing. He made 25 points with nearly 60%, grabbed 13 rebounds and was unlucky with two of his outside shots. Just 2 of 7. He made almost all his attempts near the rim. He has an efficency of 28+. I am sure that some big clubs will be after him after this season. He is definitely ready and IMO a clear NBA prospect with a proper outside shot. Its definitely improvable.

Sehmus Hazer. Just turned 21 a month ago. This guy let his heart on the floor. He was against ITÜ very tired and after the first quarter too. He improved his outside shot significantly also today with 3/7 but couldnt finish at the rim because of being tired and being too skinny. He needs at least 10 pounds more. He had 12 Points with 4/13, 8 assists, 3 rebounds and 5 steals and just 2 turnover. He can contribute very well in a well functioning team but one more year. Not sure if he should stay or bring bandirma a buyout and make the next step. Many clubs are after him according to Eurohoops. The ACB team Burgos officially asked for him.

Erkan Yilmaz 23, slowly but surely finds a role in this team. Not a fan of him. His outside shots were falling today but i am still sceptical about his consistency. Very nice and efficient game though.

Atakan Erdek, 18, distributed the ball well with 8 assists but not ready.

Furkan Haltali 17, overwhelmed, not ready but still very very young.

Sadik Emir Kabaca, 19, not ready but promising game, promising outside shot with 3/4. Looks like a stretch four with a solid wingspan and ability to protect the rim. Needs to keep working.

This team was with 8 behind after the third quarter. With the guys of the second team this team can fight for 10th seed of the turkish league. Bandirma is a bless for the turkish national team.

                          • Ok guys for the start I will admit taht I did not watch Alperen Şengün much so dont know about him well. So here is my question,
is there a chance we can pull a N. Pekoviç out of him?

They have some similarities. Sengün wont be as strong as Nikola Pekovic but footwork is similar. They have the same soft touch around the rim but Sengün shows much more versatility like floater, driving wth the ball to the rim. I saw also a mid range jumper that wasnt counted but it looked stable. Sengün will never be a good defender but the effort is there. The best thing that he can do on the defensive end are rebounds. He can also protect the rim but running to closeouts and staying in front of smaller guys will be difficult. What him makes so special is his ball handling with his size, his passing skills (very solid passer) and his intelligence.

                              • Unfortunately Adem Bona got an injury in the U17 training camp. He will be out for a half year due to a shoulder injury. No U17 wc and U18 EC for him this year.
