I mean right now. Not time wise. If ask yourself this question: would the Houston Rockets trade Sengun for Sabonis head to head. Last season, Sengun was not strong enough thats why I would have said Sabonis is the better player but from this season Sengun is clearly the better player and also the more versatile player.

With that I may agree. Even though Sabonis still beasting him out with rebounds and assists. If I building my team around I take Sengun off course. He can be true carrier at some point.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

      Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
      Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
      Buzelis, Lelevicius
      Murauskas, Sirvydis
      Tubelis, Krivas

Sabonis is the better rebounder but assist numbers highly depend on your team. Houston is a hell of a defensive team but they cant make shots. Sengun must always fight way more than Sabonis for points. Sengun is the best player of his team in the very competitive western conference and the team has been the second best team there.

His numbers will increase heavily when a star perimeter guy like Booker or Fox comes to the team. FVV is not good enough.

At Fiba Sengun is 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999 times better as Sabonis and only that is important.

We can expect Sengun to contribute better than Sabonis but Sengun himself hasnt shown much either so far. Anyway, he will put easily 20 points plus average.

Not a given. Not saying he won't one day, but for a big to average 20ppg in FIBA is rare as fuck. M. Gasol or Vucevic or Sabonis, all 20ppg kinda dudes in NBA in their prime, would score around 12-14ppg in FIBA in most cases. Specially, if we speak about strong NTs.

He is hot as hell and can hardly wait to compete in Eurobasket. He will easily average 20 points.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAaaaaa good joke, Senguns eurobasket 2022 at 20 is enough for Sabonis whole NT career. Sengun is a killer, you never had a caliber like him in turkish bb. The only hope for turkish NT is Sengun. Then you must involve in the next years serious players(serious players, not jokes) next to him like Melih Tunca. You need those calibers, not bums.

Sengun 2022 was not outstanding even though very solid stats for his age. We hope all that he shows some difference in Eurobasket 25.
But I am also full hyped about him. He will be like Gasol in his best times. Absolutely unstoppable.

                    • Sengun was limited in important games both against France in EuroBasket 2022 and against Croatia in 2023. But it is okey. Both Zubac and Gobert match-ups are really tough especially in FIBA court. After that time, he has destroyed Gobert last two seasons in NBA, Zubac is always hard for him. But anyway, I agree he has shown more than Sabonis in FIBA. Sabonis was huge disappointment so far, especially in the last two olympic qualifiers.

I would never accuse him because of the Croatia game. He had to fight against 3 guys because we played with Sipahi and Hazer and the Croatians let them shoot all day long. This is the problem with our back court

                        • Yes, I agree with you. But we will probably have same problems in the upcoming tournaments. And also, we can make same excuses for Sabonis. He also does not play with a talented back court in the national team. European coaches and players are more smarter than NBA ones and benefit from your weaknesses. If we want a true dominance like Jokic and Gasol, he should expand his game to midrange and 3pt line. Otherwise, other teams will keep to benefit from our and his weaknesses.

                          • Sabonis is a bum at Fiba. You never had Senguns mentality in turkish bb, never ever. His mentality, IQ and leadership is unmatched in turkish bb history, this is the reality, nothing else. The only chance for turkish bb is ALPEREN SENGUN. His impact is much more as what you can describe with stats, mentality, IQ and leadership, this is ALPEREN. A bum like Sabonis can play with Bogdanovic at Fiba but he will act like a medicore player.

He is very late 2008 born guy. He can do a lot things little and looks smart.
I have watched almost zero BGL this season because this league is a bum league but it would be a big surprise if a zero future player like Alex Koyun is a good prospect, sadly but he is a bum. Its not important when he is born, important is if he is still growing, how looks his face and body and here Alex Koyun had with 15 a beard and had the same body 1 year ago = zero future.

Turks must learn who has future and who not. What is with Mete Pacaci(2007)?, he was always a bum with zero future but turkish fans etc. hyped him and what is the result?

I dont know what happened to Kaan Belgutay(2009) for example, i had hyped him but he was not with the U16 NT. He has not grown for 2 years and shaves his face with 15, i dont expected it but most likely game over for him.

Only talent matters, real talent. Melih Tunca, Derin Can Ustun, Kaan Onat, Omer Kutluay, Darius Carutasu etc. not Salih Altuntas or other bums.

Salih Altuntas is a talented big. He is just too slow.
