Too soon to tell. We need to go deeper into season and see how good and consistent Sengun will be. Sabonis started a little bit slow, but he's catching up and usually reaches his top performances in the mid season. Last season Sabonis was well deserved All NBA guys, if 21yo Sengun can do then it's really amazing. But he still may have some ups and downs as young guy.

I didnt mean the current performance level of both but the general skill set they have in their games. Senguns three pointer needs work but he has a very solid push shot and one legged fade away shot which is very important against bigger players. Sabonis on the other hand does not look like to develop a consistent shot. In this two games there was just one discipline Sabonis was obviously better and this is rebounding. Sabonis is a great rebounder but a horrible defender.

Also Sabonis has sureal ability to play within the flow and to be the main stream of that flow. Jokic and Sengun have fancier and individually superior passing skills, but even them, IMO (at least Sengun surely) can't play within the flow as Sabonis does. His multiple screens, multiple hand offs...I'm not sure there was such player before. Off course, Jokic on the same tier, but even Jokic doesn't have that motor and eagerness to play within the flow as much, Sabonis is a system of a basketball within the flow and he works with never changing motor. Rebounding and what I described here is what makes Sabonis unique.

Sengun has played very well lately and I hope he keeps his performance. I saw some comparison with third year of Jokic and Sabonis and his stats near Jokic more than Sabonis. But, there is one critical point. Sengun is more than one year younger than third year of Jokic and Sabonis. It makes his stats absurd. I do not know whether he can reach the peak Jokic level which is the best player of NBA. If he can be selected All star this year and can be there consistently, he can make historical impact. Of course, it is just hypothesis but at least, we can say that he is ahead of Jokic and Sabonis at this point.

Jokic is another level player. He wont reach that level. But surely he has a much more versatile skill set than Sabonis.

Rockets went hell or high water till the end with Sengun down the stretch. Nice to see him getting the green light. For a 21yo to emerge as franchise player of NBA team is really interesting. Doncic (and probably Jokic, even though he became the key a bit later) territory. They kept him on a bit short leash last season.

Austin Reaves hits the game-turning three that puts the Los Angeles Lakers in the lead over the Houston Rockets. Then in the finals moments Houston tries to ...

I cant even imagine how I would have felt when this had happened with the NT. He should have made both fts but ok he has now Dirks one legged fade away shot. Its clearly unguardable and can be pulled off anytime.

The best game of Sengun so far in the NBA. He totally dominated JV and fouled him out. JV was always way stronger than Sengun but now he can keep up with JVs strength. Sengun is on the other hand too fast for JV.

Sengun played an all-star level game tonight and he hasnt been taking too many shots from outside. His outside shot is gettng better and better. I dont care if the stats say something like 1/3 or whatever. The trajectory of his shots are great and the falling angle too. His ft percentage of the last 5 games are also great with 84%

He will be the best Turkish basketball player of all time.

Took a look at Alperen Senguns first prep game with the Rockets. His lateral quickness improved definitely, his flamingo shot looks like a deadly weapon right now and he already mentioned that he worked on that shot a lot and the three point shot looked awesome!

If his three pointer shot falls with high percentage hell be truly unstoppable.

What's with Sengun? Why he's not exploding yet? Some kind of team set up issues?

The main problem is that he gets doubled every time and he is not smart enough to solve the doubles. The spacing is not great as well. Especially VanVleet is horrible from outside. And Alperen is a bit sloppy and cant convert easy layups to points but he is shooting great from outside. He should be around 45% from outside with low volume of course.

I think he has a physical problem and I saw some news about a problem with his back. Because he can not do some moves normally he can. Tough he was good in the preseason and the first half of the Charlotte game. Then, with the second half of the Charlotte game, he looked weak. He even can not push guys like Wembenyama, Grant Williams, Sochan, and even Doncic. Last year, he destroyed Wembenyama. He looked terrible especially in both Spurs games.

But on the positive side, he looked better last night against Dallas, he just missed his shots. I hope he will explode in the next games against Warriors and New York with weak big rotations.
