Alperen Sengun thread!

Sengun has been really convincing in the last 3-4 games. The best thing that possibly could happen is happening. His 3 point shoot volume and percentage is increasing. His true shooting percentage increased significantly too. The trajectory of his shot looks better and better although his release is still slow.

This summer is important. He must become stronger and he needs to work on his shot and his lateral quickness. I can see some upside in his bad pick and roll defense. An increase from 10 to 15 points is very good but he can easily reach the 20 points border next season. I was worried about his rebounding but he showed improvement in that area too and he will be better when his body is fully ready.

Alperen could really be the best Turkish BB player of all time.

I mean there is no reason for tari eason to lie about sengun's height, its definitely rare but durant grew like 3 inches from 19-21 he could be around 6'11 why not we haven't seen him against other players since 3 months. We'll see in August. I didn't believe it at first but its like the 3rd time tari eason said this in the last 2 days

NBA dates are bullshit also, do you think Sabonis is 7,0 and Jokic 6,11, Cedi is 6,7 and Alperen 6,11, in some weeks you can see again that Alperen is 1 inch bigger as Cedi, Cedi is 6,9 and Alperen 6,10, all with shoes. At Nike hoop summit Jokic was 2014 with 19 208(without) and wingspan of 220, he actually still grew after 19 and is now a huge player with most likely 210-211 and his wingspan and wide body. Omer Yurtseven was 209(without) at Adidas Eurocamp, he added most likely 1-2 cm too and is now a huge player with 210-211. People think its easy to be 210, its not easy being that big, we can see it in official measurements. In 2018 in Adidas Eurocamp Erxhan Osmani was 208 and Berke Atar 209 of course all without. Osmani is a good example, Osmani has 100 photos and video material with Alperen, Furkan Haltali, Sadik, he is always bigger as the 3. Melih Tunca is bigger as Kaan Onat but Melihs height was 193 and Kaan 195 at Euroleague side and now Melih is 196 at U19, Melih is most likely almost 195 without shoes, Kaan 192-3. Berke Buyuktuncel said in an interview in 2020 that he is 204(without shoes 201) with a wingspan of 214, today he is most likely something like 205 without shoes and at Fiba he is 206 and Hamza Mestoglu 203, in reality Berke is 2 inches bigger. We saw Berke several times with Furkan Haltali, Sadik Kabaca on photos in NT, but you must check several photos and many videos, not 1 photo etc. and then you will see how realistic is Berkes height is with something like 205(not 200, not 210, not 215). I agree with you but Alperen seems taller in EuroBasket in 2022 than he was Olympic Qualifiers in 2021 and Summer League. I think he had grown that time. Also this season he went head to head with Valanciunas and he was almost similar height with Valanciunas. Also, I realized through the season that he is as tall as Jabari which is 6'11 in NBA measurements. Maybe, his measurements are wrong also but I think there is a little possibility that Alperen is taller.

The hype on Alperen Sengun is amazingly increasing. We have to point out his defensive development this season. He still has big issues in terms of lateral quickness which will never disappear and he cant stop giants like Jokic in the low post despite being a bit taller but he is getting better and better and in time his positioning will make him able to defend even better.

Offensively, his push shot and one legged fade away is ridiculously good. Reaching Jokics level seems not possible but I would say he is even now better than Sabonis who is supposed to be in his prime. He is definitely more versatile than Sabonis.
