That kid is more than special even know at 20 when he is dummy player.God save his opponnets when he will get some experience and smarter desicion to his game

Only injuries can stop him from become top 10 worlds players very soon. After Olympic final no if or buts about his tallent remains to me only health questions.

Thats not nornal for 20 kid looking so good playing vs Lebrons,Durant,Embiids,Davis of the world in must win game for americans
Jokic was 21 in 2016. You can't compare their roles. Wembanyiama was immediately given 30 mpg, while Djordjevic used Jokic off the bench as one of rotational players. Jokic dropped easy 25 on USA in limited role in 2016. Give him 30 mpg like Wemby had at Olympics and then you can compare them.

Wemby is a generational talent, but he has some glaring weaknesses which are not going to be easily solved considering his built.

Wemby right now is all about flashes. He is showing flashes of greatness but an actual impact is not yet there, which is understandable considering his age. My point is that he might not be anything more than highlight reel machine with empty stats, because the stuff he has to improve are not easy to achieve given his size and built.

If these Olympics were held outside of Paris, France would have been out in the group stage losing to Japan. Sure, Wemby is already impactful, but the hype around him is making him look better than he actually is, which won't help him at all.

If Jokic had earned the minutes, he would have played 30+. You have just proved how special he is.

Nope, you are jumping to conclusions without knowing the context. And the context is that it's the Serbian national team. There is hierarchy and if you are a rookie like Jokic was in 2016, you are not getting more minutes over proved veterans even if you are already better than them. First you need to earn respect from them no matter how good you are. That's why we are who we are

And there is no doubt that Wemby is a special talent.

        • I dont care what how much minutes played. Im saying Wemby at 20 had better and way more memorable olympic debut than Jokic at 21. Thats is facts.

Same goes to nba arena debuts.

Tell more advanced 20 old youngsters in last 20 years than Wemby ? So all this your searching holes in kids game like he would be already finished product dont feel right.

France won silver because they beat Canada and Germany in 1/4 and 1/2 two before unbeaten teams

France entire team changed when in starting 5 they put Wemby as main center and Yabusele PF .(no more Gobert+Wemby nonsenses)

Thats only shows what a two way talent Wemby is at 20. They didnt miss Gobert defence because they had alien 2m24 long inside

You don't care what actual roles they had on their respective teams but you do like to compare them completely out of context? That's a good one. LOL

I already said that Wemby is a generational talent. So, what are you arguing here about (besides trying to compare apples and oranges)? I was pretty clear when I said that all the hype around Wemby is making him look better than he actually is. No matter how advanced he is for his age. He is still just a potential that has yet to come to realization. The evidence of this ridiculous hype around him is picking him over Yabusele in the best Olympic lineup. While the truth is that Yabusele was by far the best and most impactful French player on both ends. Do you now understand the hype I'm talking about? Shooting 42% from the field while being 2,24cm and getting bullied by Josh Hawkinson in the paint means that Wemby is not yet what people think he is. Quite simple. That doesn't mean he won't be, but he isn't right now.

            • Filip Jovic dropped 22 pts on Bahcesehir in a prep game.

Jovic is Mega's biggest project next season and I think he will have a breakout season.

Not a typical F/C player that we are used to throughout our history. He is a great rim roller, really quick feet, he can face up by faking handoffs, great finisher around basket with superb athleticism.

The question mark is his size and height as he seems to be a bit undersized to play at 5, especially against strong big men. But on the other hand he will have a clear advantage in athleticism and quickness while attacking as a rim runner or face up. The key will be to develop outside shot, if that happens can easily play as a PF. Without outside shot he might be lurking between positions which could hinder his potential.

To sum up, very specific player who loves playing up tempo basketball and thrives in transition and p&r game. The kind of basketball we played this summer. He might add a new dimension to our team in some small ball lineups and could become a very dangerous player especially if he develops outside shot. One of the hottest prospects to follow in upcoming season. Different than what we are used to when it comes to big men.

What a dumb comment. Jokic was the MVP of the pre qualifying tournament in 2016 and the best Serbian player leading to Olympics . Djordjevic had another idea for the Olympic tournament and didn't used him as much on the offense in the tournament but Jokic was still in the top 5 players on that Serbian team. Wembanyama in my opinion was not that good in the Olympics, he was jacking three point shots and missing almost all of them , and he was also lucky that refs let them win the game against Japan, France would have never passed their group without refs help. And Wembanyama is not more talented player than Jokic. He's 7"4 Porzingis. He can't post up against anybody, he looks clueless, like a giraffe on the skates, his three point shooting will never be great, all you have to box him out and his offensive game is very limited. That goof is so overrated, he will be lucky if he achieves half what Jokic has achieved in his career.

                  • Markovic is another versatile and skilled forward. I see that he has been working on his shot, the arc on his release is much higher and looking very good. Markovic and Jovic are big prospects from Mega to follow next season.

                    • Markovic was great in the first game, now Jovic showing off his skills. Athleticism, quick feet, bully ball, excellent touch around basket, ability to face up, those are his best skills. If he becomes a decent shooter, it will open the game for him much more.

                      • Kari Pesic has officially retired from NT. Big thanks to the legend Kari Pesic. Old school toughness and enthusiasm combined with great IQ and skill to adjust to priorities of modern basketball. All time great and hall of famer. He said that this generation should be able to continue to do big things in the next Olympic cylce. He said he knows that becasue he saw hunger in their eyes to compete and win, and this should carry on.

Who is next? Tough question. We still have elite coaches, so I don't think we will go after foreign coach.

                        Rajakovic - NBA, highly unlikely.

                        S. Obradovic - Monaco, highly unlikely.

                        Z. Obradovic - done with NT.

Kokoskov - would he agree to comback after that fiasco? I wouldn't have have anything against to give him another shot. He is a brilliant offensive mind.

Bozic, Barac and Alimpijevic - very talented but too young and still not entirely proven.

Dzikic - experienced but NT could be too much.

Ognjen Stojakovic - Actually, he the one who did great job in the last few years as Kari's assistant. Ogi is Nuggets assistant coach, and if you are wondering why our game looked a lot like Nuggets he is the reason. He also works as Malone's assistant coach and it's pretty clear he helped a lot to shape our game around Jokic.

There is though one coach proven and currently available. Yep, that's one and only Sasa Djordjevic. He might be the best option to carry on with Kari's legacy. There is only one condition - to never again use Jokic as PF, like in 2019.

                        • Versatile forward, could be elite two way player. Mega, once again, has a roster full of talents. Aside from Markovic and Jovic, there are a bunch of talents like Jelavic and Kayil, but two more Serbian players stood out - Mihailo Petrovic and Kosta Kondic. Petrovic was considered a big talent a few years ago when he was playing in Partizan. He disappeared a bit, but coming to Mega was the best chioce for him. Really playing well and showing off his talent. Breaking defenses with his quickness and change of speed and surprisingly good passing game stood out the most. Also, his 3 point shooting has been better than advertised. That is supposed to be his weakness. Very interesting PG and Pesic might look into him for November games.

I expect this youngster to have a similar path like Topic. Dominate KLS and make a transfer to ABA league. Scoring machine type of talent.

                          • Andrej Kostic with 28p in 28 min. in tonight's game. 6/7 from 3. Big, big talent and there is a vast room for physical improvement as he seems to be a late bloomer. The size, length are there, just needs to mature physically. A shooting guard with killer's instinct. Reminds me of Bogdan, especially when it comes to shooting. Topic, Drezgic, Djurisic, Kostic, Bosnjakovic, Radosic...Bjelic, Danilovic, Bikic, Karalic, Kusturica...the talent pool on guard position is really deep. Now Petrovic is also emerging, Miljenovic should come back from injury soon.

Glad to see Bosnjakovic getting minutes in ABA league. High character player, Lucic/Kalinic type of player with possibly more shooting and driving.

Mario Nakic getting consistent minutes, he can definitely play. Shooting is problematic, but if he can stay healthy, I think he can surprise and be a very decent player.

Poku is so talented, hopefully he can learn a lot and improve this season.

                            • Another double-double for Markovic - 16p/10r/3b. He is present in every aspect of the game. And another solid performance for Mihailo Petrovic. He is thriving in transition and surprised me a lot with his great touch on floaters and finishing around basket. Those type of shots are very difficult but important for players like Petrovic who lack size and vertical jump to explode at the rim.

Ognjen Stankovic coming back to life with great shooting which is his main weakness. Maybe a sign of improvement. Another guard worth following.

Pesic attended the game to give support to Simanic, but I guess he also wanted to take a look at those Mega's kids like Markovic, Jovic and Petrovic. Some of them or maybe all 3 of them will be invited for November games. Kari Pesic knows his business and doesn't leave anything to accident.

                              • KK Mega Basket is a development factory. From Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to Nikola Jokic, they have a proven record of bringing in prospects, giving them the playi

Very good article. I would add that he has a lot of room for physical development, filling out his frame which will enable him to finish through contact and profit from his good touch. Has 4 straght double-doubles and seems like he can really impact the game on both ends of the floor.

Pesic is surely closely following this youngster, one of those players that fit perfectly Kari's transition offense and passing ability. I also expect Petrovic and maybe Jovic to be in the roster for November games.
