Zurab Sakandelidze and Mikheil Korkiya are the most titled Georgian basketball players. Sakandelidze as the member of Soviet Union's National Basketball team won four European Championships (1965, 1967, 1969, 1971). In 1967 became the Champion of the World and in 1968 Mexico Olympic Games got a bronze medal.

Korkiya became the Champion of Europe (1971). Got a bronze medal on the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 . Their main achievement was in Munich 1972, where they became Olympic Champions. Both began the match in the starting lineup and Sakandelidze became one of the creators of the last magic three seconds that brought the gold medal for Soviet Union.
