I meant we shouldnt naturalize players like Walkup. I can't see any issue by having Greeks like Dorsey or Sofo in the national team

And I asked you already naturalized Walkup, not Dorsey. No need to feel attacked.

No, we need some who can not only jump, but also shoot the three and free throws like the guys from South Sudan. Climate change combined with wildfires will turn Greece into a South Saharan country one way or another. But stop kidding do you know any african immigrant kids playing for the greek youth national teams?

You don't consider Walkup as an issue but Dorsey for our national team.
Probably I don't get your dark humor..

Let me write it this way. I have no problem with Dorsey, I had never a problem with big Sofo but if Greece would play with lets say 8 African rooted guys, it would be a bit strange. I wouldnt want it for Greece or for Turkey or any other European country.

The issue with the naturalization: Its not somehting that I prefer. I would even say I am strictly against it BUT if even Spain uses the possibility why should I deny using Larkin or Walkup? I mean if the Serbs are against it or the Lithuanians its honorable and the Serbs can afford it which makes them to a basketball country. We Turks are not at that level yet.

Abosi is one. He was in your U18 team if I am not mistaken. He looked very solid last year but this year he was really bad. I think the coming Greek basketball crisis is not solely based on the aging/decreasing population but also in your raising quality and culture. Basketball became very fast and bases on athleticism and Turks and Greeks are not that athletic so new ways of being useful/successful must be found.

Especially, raising bigs is a big problem for the Greek basketball. Even big Sofo, Giannis or even Papadopoulos they all had fundamental issues. Giannis for example is really bad in defending post up situations. Generally, he defends really bad in the Greek NT. No Greek big that I can remember of could score from post ups. Thats your weakness.

We Turks cant raise guards on the other hand. Take a random Greek guard, lets say Mouratos or Liotopoulos. It does not matter. They are simply better than any Turkish guard. Of course sometimes a talent like Tunceri or Kutluay pops up but there is no system. The problem of Greek basketball is the lack of scoring.

I do not care where their "roots" are. Anyone who feels Greek, e.g. because they were born in Greece or (at least) one of their parents is Greek and they got their Greek citizenship legally, I am fully in favor of letting them play for Greece.

In my personal opinion, the current problem with young talents in Greece is mainly due to the euro crisis and the associated austerity measures. In addition, the old head of the greek basketball federation was not mentally flexible enough in his old age to adapt to a changing basketball world.

There are several reasons including yours and mines but I like your U16 team. Youll find ways to be competitive.

I expect them to follow the greek tradition and loose today against Spain.

No, Spain is far too weak this time. I am pretty sure that Greece will secure Gold at home. You are too pesimistic.

It was so unnecessary. There was no hint of a come back. Greece made so many unnecessary TOs.

Sorry but this is really their dumbness nothing else. They had a 12 points lead. You have to bring this home. Anyway the 08 is really poor in terms of NBA talent but the 09 generation will provide many NBA talents from Europe.
