Surely the most important youth tournament out of all. A very strong generation from Europe... to mention some names Djurisic and Milijasevic from Serbia, Wembanjama from France, Nunez from Spain, Klavzar from Slovenia, Murauskas from Lithuania and this kid from the States Buzelis woke up my interest. I want to see if he can cope with the physicality of this tournament, Avdala from Greece is interesting too.

You see there are many many NBA prospects among these names.

From the Turkish standpoint. There is no top 5 player but the team is one of the strongest. The most talented generation that I saw so far coming from Turkey. The 2004 generation is very deep and has started to play this season in the strongest leagues and is the most international generation too. This team playing in Turkey is a natural medal candidate.

So you finally took a look at him There's another big Lithuanian name - Motiejus Krivas. So there's very distinct Big 3.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

      Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
      Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
      Buzelis, Lelevicius
      Murauskas, Sirvydis
      Tubelis, Krivas

Well I watched some highlights, yes. He is talented but the level he is playing right now doesnt seem to be very high so its interesting to observe his reaction when the level is higher but a smooth 6'8 guy who can shoot is always interesting.

Yes, his current potential performance level at U18 seems to be rather mysterious. What intrigues is his upside. He can basically do everything, extremely versatile.

We're in division B, and I fully expect that this generation will qualify for the division A. Spars U18 team is strong, there will be Mulic and 3 – 4 more players from Spars, on that core you add 2005 born center Dzafic from Buducnost Bijeljina who is unguardable against his peers in BiH(and probably against many of them in Europe) and it’s already A division level team.

This is the boxscore from the U19 game between Mega leaded by Djurisic and Spars. Mega won 110 : 94, but they had many 2003 born players, while Spars team was made entirely from 2004, 2005 and 2006 born players.

Dzafic in the past season semifinal game of the final tournament of the U16 BiH championship, he doesn't even play anymore against his own age group because it's pointless.

Due to his elegance and imagination, Mirza Delibasic was one of the continent's greatest ever players.

The wider roster of Turkey for the U18 EC is set. This time with a very balanced team with BBIQ, size and rich on play making. Just a lack of shooting might occur.

Oğuzhan Göktepe, Kerem Kuthan Konan, Anıl İhsan Akgül-Beşiktaş JK
Demircan Demir, Hasan Kaplan- Bornova Belediyesi Karşıyaka
              Baran Aslan, Eren Deniz-Fenerbahçe Koleji
Ege Tan Yıldızoğlu, Efe Mert Şekeroğlu-Galatasaray Nef
Emir Arda Sivas, İbrahim Ethem Yılmaz-Gaziantep Gençlik Gelişim
Özgür Cengiz, Emre Girgin, Arda Duraklar, M. Faruk Yerkazanoğlu-Gelişim Koleji
              Baran Yurduşen-Gemlik Basketbol
Zekeriya Yiğit Tekin, Karahan Tuan Efeoğlu, Mehmet Efe Demirel-Lima Spor
Haktan Yavaş, Efe Vatan, Berke İsmailçebi-NEF Vakfı
              Buğra Çal Pınar-Karşıyaka
              Talha Yiğit Aydın, Kuzey Livaneli-Teşvikiye
              Berke Büyüktuncel-Tofaş
              İsmet Öztürk-Türk Telekom
Berk Can Akın-Alba Berlin / Almanya
Derin Mark Saran Asheville School / ABD
Yiğit Hamza Mestoğlu-CB Ucam Murcia / İspanya
              Efe Tahmaz-Partizan / Sırbistan
              Eray Büyükcangaz-SC Derby / Karadağ
Erbey Kemal Paltacı-OKK Novi Pazar / Sırbistan

              Samet Yiğitoğlu

The marked ones should be locked for the tournament

I like this packed '04 Turkish generation. No player is sure-star material, but we will have at least 2 players who can be regular NT stagers. Mestoğlu, Büyüktuncel, Yiğitoğlu, Konan and Büyükcangaz. All these guys can make high level basketball.

The team went to Greece to play back-to-back preparation games. Turkey edged Greece by 74-57 in the first game. Konan and Büyüktuncel with 12 points. Yiğitoğlu and Büyükcangaz are not with team for now. The latter will most probably join the team few weeks later. Yiğitoğlu may skip this tournament. He will attend senior NT team's training at the end of July.

The second game will be played tomorrow.
Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. Perception, intelligence and morality assist it as well. The strong with less intelligence and comprehension can not cope with the less strong but with sufficient intelligence and comprehension. I like the sportsman who is intelligent, agile as well as morally upright.

The second game is on Greece by 64-61. Horrible shooting performance by Turkey. I mean literally horrible. 12/29 FT, 5/34 3 PT. Turkey put huge defensive effort in the second half of the game and only conceded 10 points.

Emir Arda Sivas messed up big. 0/8 3 PT. Büyüktuncel is a very sane player. Not taking so many shots yet manage to be effective in every game. 12 P, 9 R by him.

Overall good preparation games. Greece is a better team than what they have shown.

We will play with Serbia next week. Again back to back two games.

FT has always been the bleeding wound of our teams. In every category. Yes.

I know but this is even for our standards miserable.

Our Federation site is usually slow and tight with updates, sometimes they won't even bother to publish list of called players for the youth national team, so this text with "absence of Dzafic impacts our goals" in headline is unusually detailed.

Statement of U18 coach from that text: "Promotion to A division isn't for must. It would be different story about our ambitions if Dzafic was with us."

Is Dzafic(2005, 7'0'') recognized as special prospect so his absence is mentioned, or they already prepare excuse for the failure? Trnka(PG), Zrno(SG) and Mulic(SF) played more than 100 games together for the various Spars teams, just they alone should be enough for the division B!

Representatives of Dzafic already have a strict plan for his career, and U18 division B isn't included. They wan't to keep him in the bubble, and they don't think it would be useful for his improvement that he effortlessly put huge numbers in division B, gain the attention and end on those top prospects lists. Work in silence is their method.

Spain sends a really good and balanced squad, in spite of the absence of Juan Nuñez who will play in the u20 tournament.
Baba Miller is the top prospect in the team, but keep an eye on Jordi Rodriguez, he's going to be in a lot of notebooks after this tournament. We haven't seen a scorer as explosive as him since Navarro.
