I think Rubstavicius more or less is where Siskauskas was at that time. In summer he will be 22yo. At that time Siska made 2000 OG NT. Rubstavicius has a chance to do the same. If he will continue to play the same in upcoming few games, Maksvytis just won't have any other way than to take the stud. Simply he's playing too well to ignore this talent. His numbers are not just good, they are ridiculous in last 5 games. Shooting % are surreal. He has been really stable, basically utilizing all his chances to the maximum. https://twitter.com/Fergaburger1/sta...45814071693650
And here's some highlights from his last 5 games:

Here's the deal, Rubstavicius is a stud. Not that I doubted that, but now he simply backs it up with his performance. 17pts in just 23min, He's extremely efficient with 62% from the field, he shoots around 50% threes. He takes the threes in transition, he shoots in opponents face. He can slash the shit out of you. Hustles at D. In my opinion he's underrated ATM even. I don't really see better white young SGs in Europe, other than Hugo Gonzalez (Spain) and Stojakovic (Greece) probably (not going further as 2006 generation), bet even those 2 yet has to be tested at PRO properly. Again, he barely has weak spots and seems to be a great humble guy who is a real lion on the court. Players as Djurisic, Biberovic seem to me more rigid compared to Rubstavicius (or more limited in terms of shooting and facilitating as Procida) who has not so little Manu pedigree in his game.
Jokubaitis is ready to go at 1. Once Rubstavicius will be ready to go at 2, we will have a back-court again, for the first time since 2008 when Jasikevicius and Siskauskas played together the last time.

Rubstavicius with a brake out game as his first start. 21pts, 8rbs, 3as, 1stl. So far shoots 53% threes. I barely see weaknesses in his game and he translates to higher level performances compared to last season. He has both - spot up and off the dribble game. He is explosive slasher. I like how he gets in and able to make a right decision - a quick kick out, pass inside or finishing himself. The decision making is there for SG. His p'n'r abilities and passing overall are underrated. And he's very active defensively with his long arms.
Hands down the best SG since Macijauskas/Siskauskas and I'm starting to believe he can be just as good and maybe even better than those studs. First elite SG prospect since 00s greats. Pocius, Seibutis, Grigonis, Brazdeikis were/are not elite players. Good or solid player, but not elite.

I didn't say that Giedraitis' defense on James was bad. If it had been bad, i wouldn't have used this argument to illustrate how good is a mentioned player who averages about 20 pts in EL. Giedraitis sometimes lacks height though.
And NBA has nothing to do here. There are plenty of decent and good NBA players who wouldn't average so many pts in EL. But it also depends on a team in most of cases. Look at Brazdeikis in Zalgiris and him in Oly.

Not that i underrate Rubstavicius - i told you about him before 2022 summer when you claimed that Marciulionis is above everyone else in 2002 generation (except Tubelis). But the the thing is that not a single white guard today averages 18-20 pts in EL. So hold your horses.
I always was fairly positive about him, felt that he has an upside, but never went crazy about it till he exploded in U20 (well, in U19 he already showed some glimpses, but after that followed disappointing and full of injuries NKL season). I was fairly disappointed with his last season in NKL where he collected only 8eff per game as 19yo, but it was all about injuries.
BTW, Giedraitis D on James was really good. You can't ask nothing more than that. He didn't allow him to slash in comfortably. He simply made great step backs which is highest class of scoring.
Whenever I'm too optimistic, we'll see. But seeing good transition to PRO makes me very optimistic. He has extremely good attitude, good skill, elite positional profile and passion for the game that you can't teach. He's posed for good things. I stand my projection.
Nando De Colo, Shved, Rakosevic, Macijauskas all scored +18ppg in EL. All of them were NBA scrubs. Rubstavicius, IMO, may posses better profile for the NBA than these guys. So why wouldn't he be able to drop big numbers in EL. I'm just a little surprised Bogi didn't get big numbers in EL. But that depends on the team, the game style. He was playing more fundamentally sound BB than players like James, Shved who could only go for ISO generally. Bogi is smoother, more skilled and better shooter than Rubstavicius, in a comparison, but Rubstavicius has more burst, explosiveness, better size and IMO will be superior contact guard/slasher. So we'll see.Last edited by Straight forward; 12-09-2023, 08:55 PM.

Good signs from Rubstavicius now. In double digits again. Two good games in a row. This season he had only three +18 minutes games (because of injuries) and in all three he's in double digits. In last 2 games he's playing 21mpg, which should be more or less status quo for him when he's fully ready. I watched extended highlights and I really like what I see. His motor is special. He's very active at both ends, even defensively he is a plus effort player. His length 199cm, long arms and good motor makes him really good at 2. So far shoots with great efficiency, 62% from the field, 50% threes. Shows explosiveness in an open court, polished floater (which we seen not so much in LKL) and comfort taking threes both spot up and off the dribble. He can pass too. In my opinion it's a matter of 1-2 years when he's the best SG in the country. He will be better than both Grigonis and Brazdeikis. ATM, I would tend to treat him as third best SG in NT context. Better than Normantas, D. Giedraitis (I treat Sirvydis and Jogela as SFs and I don't even count in R. Giedraitis as his EL performances doesn't translate to NT at all). I don't know if Rubstavicius can make NT in 2024. If Grigonis in, I would leave him aside and take D. Giedraitis for merely defensive presence which is super important. But if Grigonis out, I would be seriously looking at Rubstavicius. 2025 is a no brainer to me. He will be ready to ball and he has un apside to be real hooper. It's a little bit pre-mature, but I project that Rubstavicius will be first Lithuanian SG since Macijauskas to be able to drop 18-20ppg in EL. I think he can be that good.

BTW, I watched Sargiunas today and saw what I wanted to see. I knew he can play like that in Neptunas. To be dominant. Couple of moves were amazing. He's explosive, crafty, a bit of American school mentality. He's a bucket. Still think he can even reach NT level. Knowing current talent pool, he will remain borderliner most likely, but the dude has some serious talent.
And off course nice to see Iggy playing well with 24eff in local league and Grigonis in EL.

Rubstavicius in action again. And in last game dropped 11pts. Really hope he can stay healthy and get some consistent solid minutes. So far he was bothered by injuries:
