2019 France
2021 Slovenia
2022 Spain
2023 Serbia
Those losses was normal we lost to elite NTs that went to win medal and Slovenia ended 4th in Olympics.
2024 lose to very mediocre Puerturico NT is by far worst lose since 2011 Macedonia.
7 people coaching staff have to look at mirrow and drinking players and wedding participants must be ashamed loosing to such streetball team
That lose now looks way worse seeing how puerturico looks like joke team in 2024 olympics

Yeah, the reason that LTU coaches didn't have dominant ISO players make them absolutely immune from criticism. Tell me about it.

Jasikevicius and Kazlauskas put alot dirt on federation in recent interviews and called them money grabbing heads and returning 20 years back our basketball
No chance Saras will coach NT if Gedvilas and Balciunas will be in federation.
Sabonis or Javtokas basketball people Jaska respects would be way bigger chances they maybe could convince Jasikevicius to coach in 2027-2028 olympic summers.
But at the end of the Saras also said: what head coach can do if Nt dont have players who can pay 1 vs 1 and beat good defenders ?
NT head coach became just man for cluesless fans to put dirt on. Like they did on Adomaitis and Maksvytis.Last edited by Shawshank; 07-29-2024, 09:45 AM.

Drinking and celebration was done by younger fellows
Who dragged inside team story from room its between Dmo or Ulanovas, most likely Dmo.
He has relationship with O dangau and similiar type journalists and what Pakenas said about that one player its sounded like Dmo type veteran who is finishing his career.
For me as NT fan i pissed at those who did drinking and didnt take olympic summer seriuosly. Those same fellows have been seen in club one day before NT camp started in Palanga according to journalist sources.
Adding Sabonis wedding type 3 days dissapearence and missing one of very few friendly games. This players deserved that quallirication lost for not taking this very short preparation seriuosly

Kleiza and Maciulis says that one player revealed that story, dragged to outside world while the ehtics of the team is that everything stays inside the team. They say the career of that players is over in the NT. You can't trust that kind of dude. It's one of older players. I wonder who.
Well, yes, drinking during such a short tournament is bad. The even worse is Tapinas who shits on the NT just for fame, freakin' glory hunter as always. I believe sports journalists did a good thing not talking about it if they knew. NT has do deal with shit inside, not other ways. As fans we should support them, we already put too much on them.
I'm still think the biggest problem of the NT was lack of true standouts (guards), guts and better coaching. If some-one would have a beer or two...It always was like that. Like Kleiza said, they did it in 2013, sometimes it can even help to clean your head and emotions. Just the timing and the amount should be proper. Obviously someone screwed drinking in PR, but the one who actually dragged this out fucked it even more.

Originally posted by Straight forward View PostI think the rumor about drinking was related to U20, someone was spreading that. Not the first not the last time if true. 90s greats were partying and winning. Kleiza and Saras were partying an winning. I see no problem here.
Originally posted by Straight forward View PostBring Jakucionis and Buzelits to the NT as soon as possible. That's the only smart thing Lithuania can do. Those lottery pick material with the ball in their hands means our basketball is in their hands.
But if these stories about alcohol fueled partying on the part of the players have any truth, what's most needed is a strict disciplinarian such as Rimas Kurtinaitis or Tomas Pačėsas as head coach.

Tapinas: one of younger players broke the tv in middle of celebration
Players in their 30s with families and kids unlikely will do such childish things in most important tournament, those without kids easily could do some celebrations
Rumours about Jokubaitis partying too much in barcelona already was before this summer.
Jokubaitis and Sirvydis would be main candidates for such activities what Tapinas is talking and both played dissapointing tournaments.
In first 3 games Jokubaitis and Sirvydis was really bad, missing everything and couldnt stay in front of nobody in defence
after that celebration in playoofs game vs Italy :
Jokubaitis 1 from 8
Sirvydis 0 from 5 3pointersLast edited by Shawshank; 07-23-2024, 08:08 AM.

its definitely not the main reason they lost but its very disappointing when they have been struggling for nearly a decade and after yet another failure this comes out. there are way too many players/coaches on the national team who dont really have a winning mentality and treat the national team as a some kind of friend meetup.

Anyway, I think it shows that our coach was meh, captain Kuz is not a good idea, and that we lacked the leader. On and off the court. On other hand, obviously there was a conflict. When it turned out, those who were disciplined really pissed of and some TVs were smashed as being said. So, maybe just few guys got drunk and got schooled. Anyway, I think it's not the main reason why we lost. It could affect it to certain degree, but I think we generally lacked pieces that could carry us.

Can you actually blame Domas for a good working ethics? Come on, man. IDK, to me it's about the talent. If we build around total role player who wouldn't even play for PAO in the playoffs generally, what do you expect? That he would beat legitimate NBA players as Alvarado?

Next summer it's time to say that I told you so
Offtopic but you really should check out Miikka Muurinen. Alreaydy played this summer. IDK what you meant by Veesaar but he is Estonian.
