Francisco is a bricker. Walker is no-where seen.

I really like how Sirvydis moving. He even hustles a lot and make some surprising grindy plays. I think he's one year away from braking out in EL. His consistency is an issue, but dude looks really good. Light on his feet, crafty, sharp, improved defense, just needs to finish more consistently.

Paliukenas is so trash. I can't stand all this story with him.

He was really bad in Turkey.

Wolves is meh. They have some good quality foreigners, but not a single good Liths maybe apart of Zemaitis. But even him and few other mediocre locals play worse than they can. Team without emotions.

Interesting comparing the unheralded Martynas Paliukėnas to the much touted (at least by the Žalgiris fan contingent) Dovydas Giedraitis. Now we already know that Paliukėnas is more highly rated as a defender by his peers. Here though are some other numbers including per game stats from the 2023-24 LKL season:

PLAYER GAMES MIN POINTS 3PT% FT% ASSISTS STEALS T/O EFF
    Martynas Paliukėnas 33 26:06 10.2 22.8 64.1 5.0 1.8 2.9 12.8
    Dovydas Giedraitis 40 19:59 6.0 36.9 78.0 1.9 1.0 0.7 6.0

Despite the fact that Paliukėnas can't shoot worth a damn, he's a much better floor general and a more effective offensive player overall. So Giedraitis evidently comes out second best on both sides of the floor.

But for the second year in a row Martynas Paliukėnas of Mažeikiai was voted the best defender in the LKL by his fellow players. Dovydas Giedraitis was well behind in second place.

Nonsense!!! You're nothing but a fanboy of a single team. (Your posts are overwhelmingly Žalgiris related.) As a result you view Žalgiris players through rose tinted glasses.

Excuse me but better isn't determined by a team's budget or a player's salary. Better is as better does! Here are the facts:

    1. Rytas outscored Žalgiris 362 to 360 over four games in the LKL Final and won three of them.

    2. Margiris Normantas compiled total Efficiency of 52 in 84 minutes in those four games. Dovydas Giedraitis compiled Efficiency of only 45 in 117 minutes. What's that you were saying about usage? What's that you were saying about better?

    3. Normantas averaged Efficiency of 11.7 over 21:54 minutes of playing time in 35 LKL games this past season. Giedraitis averaged Efficiency of only 6.0 over 19:59 minutes of playing time in 40 LKL games this past season. What's that you were saying about better?

Judge a player by his game performance; judge a player by his production. Look at objective results and spare me/us the subjective verbiage.

Interesting that many of you Žalgiris fans work relentlessly at being ill will ambassadors for your team. For example insisting that such-and-such a Žalgiris player is automatically better than his competitors on other LKL teams regardless of production, laying out a red carpet for Žalgiris players to the national team as opposed to insisting they play their way onto the team, being dismissive of any discussion of teams such as Neptūnas, Juventus, Šiauliai or Pieno Žvaigždės because "nobody" (people living in Kaunas and Vilnius) cares, that type of arrogance earns your team no friends.

Like I say, judge a team not by their payroll but by their play as determined by game scores; judge a player not by his salary but by his production. All else is subjective and thus intrinsically biased crap.

Who are Dimša's hardcore fans here on this board? I don't believe there are any on this board. (I'm defining "hardcore" as those who might count Dimša among their favourite two or three guards.)
