Murauskas looks good. Tonight he was 7/7 from the field (15pts), 8 boards, 22eff in 14 minutes. His improvements are obvious. He doesn't force shots, his decisions are surprisingly solid for his age. Defensively tried to guard the 1 and did it pretty nicely. I think last season Maciulis did a good job with him and now Canak pushes him to play the D hell of high water. As an 18yo he looks really well. He should have his 15mpg all season long and that's Eurocup team. Very lengthy combo forward with both inside and perimeter skills, good IQ, nearly two ways, shows some promise of three point shot. And he's not softy, active on the glass. If Murauskas will continue with the right attitude (naturally he's cockiness prone), his future if very bright.
Off topic, but I'm already projecting potential U20 NT roster next summer with - Buzelis, Murauskas, Lelevicius, Krivas. That would be unfair. That length and skill.

Foster has killed Zalgiris knailing 34 pts. The best performance in Zalgiris-Rytas games since tremendous Eidson's performance in BBL final in 2009. In LKL Eidson scored the same 34 pts in final game.
A lot will depend if Rytas can keep Foster until the end of the season.
Congrats to Rytas. It's not so easy to beat this Zalgiris. On other hand, Maksvytis should learn to control the games more. Like Lukosiunas doing complete shit for 2 minutes, Zalgiris going down, but he waits, doesn't take time out. This is not PRO level. He is often late with substitutions and hesitant to take a time out. It's not like he's in Phil Jackon's shoes with this roster.
On other hand, despite a win...I'm looking at Rytas' roster therer's zero NT material there...zero...I mean Rytas used to have Siskauskas, Macijauskas, Kaukenas, Javtokas in freakin' roster. Now their best Lithuanian is freakin' Radzevicius...

4 NT players Brazdeikis,Ulanovas,Butkevicius,Lekavicius lets one american streetballer win game by himself? with 63% shooting?
They should be ashamed for this poor energy performance in defence. I get they are tired after friday game,it takes alot of energy to comeback from -20 and win...but still this was principal game.
This game only showed once again one skilled guard can decide games how basketball is played now even with weaker roster.
Pikenrool and let skilled guard cook 1 vs 1 vs opponnets bigs again and again and again
there no smart tactics here just who has best individual strong guard that team have advantage in 4querters.

There was more Lithuanian talent in that days. And foreign clubs and agents were not so active like today. Rytas could keep Siskauskas until his 25-26...Today it would be impossible.
So today it's mainly about foreigners. Zalgiris is strong this season because they managed to get strong ones. Last season it was opposite and therefore Zalgiris wasn't strong. Rytas started this season awfully because foreign players looked very bad, but when Fridriksson began to play it became way better. And today Rytas won because Foster had a monster game.

Rytas could keep Siskauskas because they basically was offering the same money as any other club in Europe. Macijauskas said that it was hard decision to leave Vilnius when Tau Ceramica made an offer cause the condition and the salary in Vilnius were all perfect. It's a shame that such city as Vilnius has been left without a solid club, the one that could attract at least 5-8mill budget, like Zalgiris.
Not to mention that horrible management fuck it up with 4 big prospects. When your best Lithuanian is Radzevicius you are noting but a boring club.

Boring for you maybe, but today Rytas wasn't boring at all. Both Rytas and Zalgiris fans want their teams to win and it's on foreigners nowadays.
Rytas couldn't do anything with those 4 prospects. And i don't miss any of them except Tubelis and Blazevic a bit. But the first one is doing well in NCAA and the second one made a decision to move to Zalgiris by himself and he failed there.
Marciulionis is struggling in NCAA and what would he do in today's game? Playing like 5 min for defensive reasons?
Sirvydis is stucked very much in trashy non-defensive D league and if he's ok with that, let it be.

Those 4 tallents isnt exactly shinning in other places. They werent some first round no brainers draft pick tallents and last 2 years only shows that.
Only Tubelis has real chances being real NT players for manny years how it looks now in 2022.
Other 3 i dont even consider them as future stable NT players.
So those tales from 2019 how rytas ale have 4 super tallents ...in 2022 looks like way overrated predictions.
What those kids shown in 3 years is dissapointing compare to praise they were getting.
Thats not Siskauskas/Macijauskas/Javtokas/Valanciunas level raw but super promissing material kids rytas provided in the past not even close.
top 20 all time ltu players by age 22-23 was top 8 men NT playoofs rotation players. In next 18 months those 4 kids have close to zero chances to do that to be consider as that kind of tallents.
Compare them to Jasaitis,Gecevicius,Jomantas , Andriuskevicius past young tallents ,but not top 20 all time ltu players those by age of 22-23 wasnt tallents, they were NT lock players.
Basically all 4 guys made noise in LKL as 17-18yo guys. Tubelis played most little, but even he showed some glimpses of explosiveness in these 6 games he played as 17yo basically. Sirvydis dropped 20pts as 18yo against Unicaja in Eurocup. Marciulionis had some big games in Champion League as 18yo. Blazevic as 18yo also was already important rotation player.
We can only speculate how good they would be today, but they would be pretty good, that's for sure. Also upcoming big talents always attract attention. Now Rytas has no Lithuanian players with upside.
