In Lithuania I watch 3 clubs. Zalgiris, Lietkabelis, Zalgiris 2. That's the only places where Lithuanians with upside play today. Rytas and Wolves are pathetic clubs without a single Lithuanian player with upside. Not a single guy who has quality of NT.

How exactly is Rytas fault that those ale super tallents isnt shining in other places ? In 2 years those 4 kids didnt shown something wow for rytas to think why we didnt try harder to keep them.
Sirvydis/Blazevic run after bigger money and they didnt care that they wont get minutes. It was obviuos that Sirvydis in nba and Blazevic zalgiris wont get minutes .Thats on young players desicions. They choosen money over playing time and stopped progressing. Other 2 wanted to be ncaa students.
Judge proffesionals clubs not by results, but by how manny upcomming kids thats not how clubs/organisation is judged.
Rytas won lkl last year first time in decade, they are doing something right in last 2 years as organisation/club.
Those 4 kids choosen desicions looks like very questionable in 2022.Last edited by Shawshank; 11-07-2022, 10:34 AM.

With Tubelis and Marciulionis it's another story. There was no conflict as far as I know and they simply chose to go to NCAA. Probably here I can't go hard on the club, but they still let go 2 bright prospects nevertheless. I can greet Rytas for keeping JV as long as he stayed in Europe. He didn't need no NCAA or any other club in Europe. He played for Rytas and then went directly to NBA. That was a perfect job by Rytas.
PS: IMO, you are highly mistaken how you treat these youngsters. FOA, Tubelis dominating NCAA for 2 years. Blazevic was among top 5 EL Rising Stars last season. Sure, playing for the worst EL team helped, but still he showed flashes of potential. Sirvydis had magnificent Summer League. All three are doing fine, IMO. Marciulionis NCAA season was disappointing, he struggled. With that I agree. But he was solid in U20, showing obvious PRO skills like elite defense and elite play making. Your idea that they are struggling is really out of hand.LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

Yourself and manny others in podcast 2-3 years ago compared them to Siskauskas/Macijauskas/Javtokas group if that comparison we are judging them by than those 4 kids totally are failing.
They arent even close to that trio.
Valanciunas never made no problems with same club . He was way more tallented and more achieved than any of those 4. You know why? because he was simple kid and worked patiently and wasnt demanding nonsenses at kids age from proffesional club.He stayed in Rytas extra year, worked hard because knew he is not ready for nba. JV already was NT player at that point. Sirvydis went to nba with lkl 5pts average
No 18 kid with 5pts lkl average are not comming to office in established proffesional club and demanding something. Shut your mouth youngster and firstly pay your dues and achieve something, then you can ask for something. But not before. Thast why all those Sirvydis cries for me that rytas didnt do bla bla sounds very selfish spoiled kids nonsenses.
Im sorry i have no sympathy for spoiled kid that changed playing time under good coach that cared about him and choosen to go israel club for extra penny and that club with no suprise sold him like uselees horse in first chance they could. Now last 2 years he spent in league that nobody watches and calls it a chaotic circus.
Why Kulboka/Brazdeikis didnt wanted to spent more time in that g/joke league? Their stats was way better than Sirvydis stats.
In 2020s how average club can keep young real prospects? one good season like Giedraitis and Kalaitzakis and euroleague club takes them with way bigger money.
Its illusion that in 2020s any average budget club can keep real tallents long term. Mission impossible its not 90 or early 00s anymore.Last edited by Shawshank; 11-07-2022, 06:04 PM.

Couple of things.
Zu, Money, Gust, Marek are definitely the best bunch of talents coming since Siska, Macas, Robke. It doesn't mean former are or will ever be as good as the latter trio, but it's the best since then and it came at the same time. It's very rare, it never happened before. Let's remember that Macas is from Klaipeda, Siska from Kaisiadorys and so on. Now it's just pure Vilnius guys coming and balling together. Actually we should count D. Giedraitis in, he's also Vilnius native. It's unprecedented blossom of talent in Vilnius. That's why people talked so much about it, it's complete rarity.
Second, Rytas' management surely made some harsh mistakes. Like Jarutis publicaly criticized Sirvydis' for the lack of effort in the practices. That's extremely stupid. Deal with such things inside, not in media. Later (when sloppy mouth was fired) Rytas learned that lesson and with Zavas it's all good now. Besides, Rytas decision to go from Eurocup to CL for few cents was extremely stupid too. No wonder Marekas didn't have a second thought when EL club knocked onto his door.
Vainauskas stretch with Lietuvos Rytas showed that Vilnius' and Lithuanian market is capable to have 2 big clubs with money. Money keeps players. Actually when you have local talents you can keep them with even lesser money. All 4 youngsters have sentiments towards Vilnius and expressed that many times. Only issues with super unPRO management screwed it all in the first place. I think in the future Wolves will show again that they can gather talented young Lithuanians and keep them longer term when they will be among most competitive Eurocup teams or even will play in EL. But Rytas screwed just from very start when money wasn't even an issue really.LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

IDK if Murauskas can sustain such numbers, but there's the comparison so far:
18yo Valanciunas in LKL 16,3eff
18yo Murauskas 13,4eff
The level of the teams more or less the same.LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

That Rytas was quite strong even in terms of EL getting to top16 and winning 3 games out of 6 there. El-Amin...I mean the guy who played only in Eurocup except that season in Rytas...Same goes to Newley, Bajramovic. Sorry, I don't see fundamental difference between the team which is lead by El-Amin/Gecevicius and Morris/Kristian Kullamae.LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:
