  • I kinda expected such an attitude. It sounds like he wont participate in Eurobasket 25 and it increases the possibility Buzelis is another case of Isaiah Hartenstein.

There's zero chance for Hartenstein case. His father is NT staff member, or at least ex, and Buzelis said plenty of times he will represent his fathers homeland. Both his parents are ballers and true Lithuanians. ATM it's more that we will see Matas in EB than not, let alone 2027 and 2028.

          • 16pts as a starter again. Matas will bounce back into ROY conversation with this, IMO. He doesn't need the bulk. Some of his drives are already physical enough, he moves people with his burst and explosiveness. No need to slow your feet with extra mass. Love his current situation, balling and experiencing what he has to. Perfect situation.

            • Damn, Karnisovas has actually been one of the worst GMs in the NBA...:I Said, I like him a ton as a baller and person, but he doesn't dig it or Bulls owner doesn't, either way. Karnisovas still speaks about play in while they must tank. He basically didn't do anything in the trading window and the only way for Bulls to become a good team is new picks. Next draft is great and he could get some pieces, but Bulls are sleeping. I just don't know if it's Karnisovas or the owner of Bulls. I think he just adjusts to whatever owner wants to keep his job. While in the eyes of BB community, Buzelis is the only good thing Karnisovas did recently.

              • I watched all Matas 17 shots last night (36 minutes of action). He broke all time Bulls rookies +/-, and despite missing tons of shots I slowly starting to see that he may even reach the stage when he's the second best European player after Doncic/Wemby (Wemby's career now at question) in the League. Matas has amazing strides and smoothness for his size. Matas, IMO, might be more special that Franz. He's more explosive, more athletic, and has even softer hands I think. I don't know how to describe that, but Franz seems to be more of economical version in comparison with Buzelis. I believe that Matas is more talented, but I'm not sure he can have Franz amazing anticipation, focus and determination. Franz has an amazing goal orientated mentality, Matas is a bit carried away, a bit distracted and light-hearted. Anyway, I see that Matas has more special touch, more special hands, and his skillset is more transcendant in terms of scoring, he also can be better shooter than Franz. His mechanics is surely better. Matas also will be better shot blocker and probably better defender overall, even though Franz is great defender too. On other hand, probably Franz will be better passer. Anyway, the sky is the limit, he missed some shots, but his ability to score in so many ways...I think he can get to ridiculous level, I can feel like his hands are getting better and better.

A month ago I had KJ as ending up a better player in the NBA, now I'm not sure. All in all, if Matas can put everything together, he's the guy with highest upside. If his skillset will get polished with each season he can be out there at the very top of the league.

                • Buzelis self creation. That first bucket. Not soft at all. I hope he stays more or less like that, just a bit bigger. In 2 years he will be unstoppable going down hill.

                  • All you need to know is right there. No-one even close in terms of athletic explosiveness since young/prime Kleiza. I think this one might be most raw sheer athletic moment of Buzelis this season. Ain't no cocky smiles of celebration. Just sheer business, down to earth dominance.

                    • Buzelis with flashes of greatness. Big block on Haliburton in transition. If today I have to name Buzelis special futures it would be defence and specially blocking and explosive bursts to the basket (specially off ball). His development for a month or two has been great. All star potential is written all over him.

Chicago games are mostly trash games rn. You understand it when you watch games. Half of the league is in tanking mode. I would not draw any conclusions from any stats atm.

Actually Bulls winning lately and they have solid chances to be in play offs. Three wins in a row and they took down Heat. Magic, Indiana - all teams standing above.

There's no science needed to see he's a beast in transition.

I didnt say anything about his transition game. He looks fluid but a claim that he is the best on the entire planet is more than daring.

One of the best, let's say. He coasting the court with ease and that's special with his size and explosiveness.
