The latter. It's completely open now whenever Augustas stays in Vilnius or goes to NCAA. So Wildcats would be not the worst place at all at his point.

    • Generally spoken, I think its always better to play professionally in Europe premised you have enough responsibility and play time but it doesnt look like Rytas is ready to give him that role.

It's tricky. There's no obvious answer which is better at this point. For Jokubaitis this path seems to work perfectly, but he had Saras as the one who formed him and guided. Augustas is playing with questionable coaches in the practices, but has his dad by his side and individual shooting coach. In Rytas his role would be bigger probably around some 16-18min, but in NCAA he could probably expect 22-25min and more chances to show off in more open basketball and likely much better coaching. Tricky.

        • Augustas Marčiulionis has played an average of 12:22 minutes in 27 LKL games this year. He's been starting lately but how many minutes he gets on the court has correlated with how well he's been playing each game.

Bičkauskis (except the game against Žalgiris) started for around 15 games now. Žibėnas is a young promising coach, but this is exactly the reason why it's not in favor for Augustas. Žibėnas wants to win and he's not in position to give tiny credit for Augustas. Marčiulionis can only dream about how Schiller allows Jokubaitis to go through his mistakes. But, hey, it's PRO, deal with that, thicken your skin, be patient, spit with blood and sweat in trainings.

            • One of the best Marčiulionis games in LKL. 10pts, 7as, 3st, 18eff in 22min. In last 9 games he made only 2 turnovers, that 0,2tpg. Lately he basically doesn't turn the ball over. His 3pts shooting increased to 42,4%. I'm satisfied with how he progresses, every year he puts up real work and gradually improves.

                • This season in domestic leagues so far PER 36:

                  Jokubaitis 14,7pts, 7,2as
                  Velicka 17,4pts, 7,4as
                  Marciulionis 14,2pts, 6,3as (Jokubaitis at Augis' age 14,1pts, 4,8as)

All three doing well at respectable club level.

                  • It's interesting that Bičkauskis PER 36 is 13,3pts, 6,3as. But off course he had very crappy first half of season under Kairys and now playing more reliably.

                      • Physically Arnas Velička looks great. He's as ripped as Dovis Bičkauskis and at 195 cm. and 91 kg. Velička is bigger than even Mantas Kalnietis who's 196 cm. and 89 kg.

Indeed he is. And he's already probably the best contact slasher in the country. He uses that body, doesn't mind few bruises inside. He'll need at least couple of more years to become serious bulldog for the NT, but it's interesting that he and Jokubaitis are already set size wise. Jokubaitis stands were prime Jasikevicius was standing in 2003 pretty much, just Rokas is one cementer taller - 193cm, 88kg.

Marciulionis on other hand is not there yet, 193cm and 81kg.

                          • Kajus Kublickas interesting piece. In September he'll turn 17. 186cm maybe can add some more in upcoming years. Very gifted with the ball in his hands, aggressive 1vs1. IMO, should be above average athlete, reads the game well. May be the best PG prospect after Augis, Rokas, Arnas.

                            • Augustas Marčiulionis decided to heat to NCAA. Damn, hope it will pan out well for him. Sometimes it gets tricky with playing time, but I think it should be OK. Rytas was safer call for him, his role would be only increasing. Now he should be getting at least 20mpg and active role the ball in his hands to say that it was a correct move. The school will be announced soon, I hope it's Arisona Wildcats.
