  • U20 Nt

Israeli U20 is shouldn't be one of our best at the last years anyway, but injuries of almoust all high players make it even harder.
This team is based on the guards, and the PG Yogev Ohayon on the top of them.
Yogev Ohayon is very exjoyable player to watch , with extremly high court vision. At the previouse season he finished 1st at assists at U18. It something will be broadcasted on the internet, I recommend to take a look on him for those who have never seen him.

no doubt yogev is one of the biggest talents israeli basketball has today.
i might add 2-3 players to watch:
nitzan hanochi (190, 20) - he played for bnei-hasharon and did some realy nice job under coach jino who would also coach the u20 nt. hard working point guard, smart, good defender.
yoni nir (202, 20) - he recieved some minutes in ramat gan this season after almost seeing no playing time in hapoel jerusalem. strong body, very enthusiastic, not too skilled - i'd say he's an ido kozikaro type of player (though more skilled than ido and has better abilty to face up his players and not only to over-power him on his way to the rim). anyway he's somewhat injured but since we have a tall-guys problem he should be very importent for the team.
elishai kadir (202, 18.5) - this player has lots of moves and he can realy play - problem is he's only 202 and that a bit small for pf, i'd say he reminds me of jankunas of zalgiris who is too an undrsize pf but very quick and good ball-handler. in this nt he should be doing some blue-collar work under rim because of the size problem but offensivly i excpect him to score 10+ ppg.

Yoni Nir is injured, isn't he?

btw, he was a significant player also at the U20 at the previouse summer (Lior Eliyahu's U20)

He played despite he was injured:
נבחרת העתודה של ישראל פתחה מצוין את אליפות אירופה בטורקיה, וניצחה 64:66 את איטליה. חנוכי קלע את סל הניצחון 4 שניות לסיום

I don't think Hungary really brought some competitive team to european championship, I mean Slovenian team is barely competitive and managed to beat Hungarians by 31... I think Israel can expect an easywin and first place in the group if they'll stay focused without too much underestimating
