  • Israel at Eurobasket!

I think, there is a dear need to re-live this thread.

Yesterday, the Israeli NT has qualified for the second time in a row via AQT for the Eurobasket. Apparently, it has hit the toughest group in the tournament, facing Greece, Russia and Serbia.
What do you think of Israel's chances? Although, it is not the best team Israel can field, I don't think it is going to be broken up with some new players being inserted into the line-up. Although, this team doesn't match up too good with their peers in the group, I still think, Israel is able to pull out a surpise. Every championship the team manages to find new rabbits in its hat.

Please share your thoughts, gossips from the Israeli press etc.

I agree with you. I miss some really good and important players but I think Israel still is a tough team which practices a difficult kind of game for its rivals. They make a very interesting and complicated zonal defense and do not have problems in playing slow on the offense.

Maybe their rivals are better teams with better players but they shouldn't forget what Israel can do. I think they will be out of the Eurobasket after the first three games but I also think there is a not so low percentage of possibilities to prove me wrong.

Tal Burstein, David Bluthental, Sharon Sashon, Derrick Sharp, Afik Nissim, Jamie Arnold, Omri Casspi, Raviv Limonad...they could have been in the
    roster.

I think from our current status of "underdogs", we've got a chance to surprise. Maybe to win over Greece will be big problem for this team, but both Serbia and Russia will make mistake if they'll think that Israel will give them points without any fight.

Congratulations to Israel people ! I've been in Granada and we had a very good time yesterday in the game vs. Serbia. I think Yaniv Green has to be the new president of Israel !

Good luck for second phase !

After recent events, our parliament will elect only old and impotent candidates and I hope for Yaniv he is still far to be in such condition
